Guest guest
Dear All I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the above event last week in the Electric Cinema in the Portobello Rd a fantastic venue. working with Warwick Medical Trust, the NHS NE London and NSPCC have produced 5 short films which are extremely powerful and well worth watching. Jane Barlow and Underdown have been involved in the making of these films On Wednesday evening we watched 2 of the films Growing an emotional brain and Breaking the cycle a very powerful story/case study of perniatal breakdown due to domestic abuse. The film shows how the domestic abuse prevented the mother bonding with the baby. It tracks the mother and baby's 2 year journey through therapy with to illustrate how with the right help and support these adversities can be overcome and these rifts healed so a healthy loving relationship can gown and develop, The other 3 films are Breakdown or Breakthrough The emotional life of a baby The forgotten father We all got a copy of the 5 films on a DVD, if there is a way of sharing these with you all please let me know. They are well worth watching and should be available soon from the NSPCC website They will all be available on the NSPCC website and they would like feedback (Cuthbert and the team) on how best to use these films which have great potential to be used in a variety of ways. Best wishesMaggie
