Some of you may be interested in attending these free masterclassesCheryllChild Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) has arranged a series of half day master classes addressing key topics associated with unintentional injury of children.The format of these events will be a BBC Question Time style forum, with a panel of invited experts and an audience of senior level practitioners, commissioners and VCS stakeholders. These will take place in central London on 29 and 30 March 2012.The topics and outline timetable are as follows:Thursday, 29 March. 10am - 12.30pm1. Child accident prevention and the new public health strategic agendaIssues to be considered may include: Integration of child accident prevention into JSNAs, HWB agendas, CCG commissioning, Health Visitors objectives and work plans, VCS providers, etc.Thursday, 29 March. 1.30pm - 4pm2. Safeguarding, neglect and child accident preventionIssues to be considered may include: LSCBs positioning child accident prevention within the neglect agenda and ‘early help’ in the Munro Review, VCS support for vulnerable families, etcFriday 30 March. 10am - 12.30pm3. Child poverty, inequality and accident prevention Issues to be considered may include: Child poverty and inequality, accident rates and prevention – child accident prevention within child poverty strategic, roles of statutory and VCS organisations, etc Friday 30 March. 1.30pm - 4pm4. A safe start for children Issues to be considered may include: Preventing serious accidental injury in early years, implementing cross cutting child health and safeguarding programmes, Marmot, partnership working, etcA booking form for the events is attached.
