Guest guest
The Department of Health's quarterly report on the HV Implementation Plan is on http://www.dh.gov.uk/health/2012/07/health-visitors/ or attached. Of course, it makes encouraging reading (well, it is a progress report on a high profile political project!) and I do think it is encouraging to see the number of health visitors beginning to creep up, with over 1600 new qualifiers expected to join the workforce from September, so the most challenging time in terms of staff numbers may soon begin to recede. That is not to underestimate the challenges ahead, which remain huge! Congratulations to the 23 new Early Implementer Sites. The first wave were all nominated for various reasons by the SHAs, who were required to identify at least two each - and some SHAs knew more about what was going on in their patch than others. The second wave have all made some significant progress in some way - a bit like first wave and later wave Sure Starts, for those of us who remember that process. It is good to see some really good work coming on stream, albeit in a few places at the moment, but hopefully will spread.I hear there are difficulties recruiting students in some places for September - is that right, or is everyone up to their numbers now?best wishes Cowleysarahcowley183@...http://myprofile.cos.com/S124021COn 1 of 1 File(s) SRP-Quarterly-Report-June-2012-FINAL-v2.0.pdf
