Guest guest
I wanted to address the problem LM and others, dimonds maybe, about being underweight and the detox being bad for them in that they lose more weight. I have a really good idea to make a nice fattening drink the only problem is that it would have sugar unless you used sugar free and used some kind of natural sweetener. LM if you just want to add some calories now I highly recomend a drink I have been drinking, it is Chai, yes mine is sugar free and that might be bad for some of you with artificial sweetener but it is Chai and I know patty makes hers with the stevia, so you could probably do that. Then add in some coconut oil, oh man is this good. I think it has been discussed on here before but with hot coco. Anyhow I have been drinking this and it is a good way to get that wonderful oil in you and also add some calories without having to actually eat more food. You could add it to smoothies also, melt it first in the microwave and then add it to almost anything really. It cooks well too. I am going to tell my friends about it at work, I think it helps our hair allot, esp those of us that use allot of color products and have lackluster hair, this stuff really works on the hair making it soft and shiny. now if you have greasy hair already this might not be the best stuff for you. otherwise it is great. Another really good way to add some calories is to fry some food in olive oil, it is healthy and def will add some fat and calories to your diet. if you are very thin this is a good alternative to some sugary carb saturated crap. Plus who doesn't like some nice fried trout or fried halibut or fried chicken? You could get free range chickens and fry them in olive oil, yummy. Another good one is potatos(ok I live in Idaho I have to promote our states veggie) they are pretty high in carbs but if your able to tolerate them they are really good for you in alot of ways. I would say if your not detoxing a good baked potato with real butter will be a good alternative to add some calories, Yes I know it turns to sugar in your system, but it is still a natural sugar. Another idea i had was stuff like a good steak, I am spoiled with living here and having acsess to all that grass fed beef, a T bone has allot of calories and fats and good for you B12 vitamins and iron. Try eating one once a week to help your body with those very needed nutrients. I know it can be harder in the big city to get good clean cuts of beef like here in Idaho but I am sure that there are stores that carry it. Try some of those natural cheeses that Patty eats, we got some in Sun Valley and they were awesome. Anyhow just a few ideas for those that are skinny minnies. I realize some of these foods won't work for everyone, but they can be really good for you in small amounts. for some of us they are fine too, it really depends on your needs and allergies etc. hugs
Guest guest
: Thank you. I like olive oil. I fry with it. The coconut oil in the shake seems like a good solution. Thanks for considering Terry and I. I'm hiking every daqy but not very hungry. Today I had orange juice, All Bran and three small all natural turkey sausage links for breakfast. For dinner, I have tomatoe slices with zuccini and ground turkey fried in a little oilve oil and a piece of toast. I hiked 7 miles.
