Guest guest
Congrats!!! I am so glad you are doing ok. It will be such a relief for you now that those nasty toxic bags are out. Sorry I haven't posted sooner but I have been horribly busy lately and not feeling well so I feel bad about not wishing you luck before hand but I was reading your posts and praying for you - I just wasn't able to respond to all of them. I had over 800 messages as of yesterday so I have been swamped. Good luck healing!!! love shari
Guest guest
thank you all for your messages! rogene, you're so kind. my parents actually came with me, i'm so lucky to have them. they've been my rock through all of this... the implants, the subsequent pain, and now the explant. crystal, you're going to love dr. melmed. you can put your mind at ease and leave it all up to him and God and know you're in great hands! i did fly from san francisco. his office is about 25 min. drive from dallas fort worth airport. there are many hotels nearby his office (medical city center). ask about which hotels give discounts for his patients to get a better deal. i needed a room for 3, kitchen, and wireless internet access from the rooms... so homestead village was the ideal choice for us. nothing fancy at all, but only $58/night. check out alamo if you need a car rental. let me know if you have other ?'s. janice, i had my implants placed in march 1998. they were smooth saline mentors. i was told they were placed above the muscle, but dr. melmed told me they were half above, half below? and they were tightly stuck to the pectoralis muscle, so it took some effort on his part to detach and remove en bloc, but he did it. i think it took about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. i did not get a lift. as for my progress today, i do feel much better since getting the drains removed. most of the post-op pain is soreness in my pectoralis muscles, so it hurts whenever i accidentally use them. as for my body aches, like you all said.. it's going to take time. it's still too early to tell, but i do wanna say that it seems a little bit better? for now, i'll just focus on drinking lots of water to flush out my system. i will continue to update my progress as things change! peace, lisa

Guest guest
Glad your surgery went so well. I hope that you will share your pics with us, it is always good to have pics esp we would love to see more of Dr Melmeds patients.THat is so awesome that you did not need a lift too, good for you. 1 1/2 hours wow that is really pretty fast! How cool. And about the implants being under the muscle, that is a total misconception, the bottom half of all implants are actually not under the muscle. I was told the only way they implants are ever completely under the muscle is via armpit incision, but I still think that part of the underside would stick out, since the muscle is not big enough in most of us to cover the entire implant. Mine def stuck out under the muscle, and were all riply feeling under there, gross, yuc! hugs and blessing girl sleep well and rest and drink tons of water love In , " holymary1974 " <holymary1974@y...> wrote: > thank you all for your messages! > > rogene, you're so kind. my parents actually came with me, i'm so > lucky to have them. they've been my rock through all of this... the > implants, the subsequent pain, and now the explant. > > crystal, you're going to love dr. melmed. you can put your mind at > ease and leave it all up to him and God and know you're in great > hands! i did fly from san francisco. his office is about 25 min. > drive from dallas fort worth airport. there are many hotels nearby > his office (medical city center). ask about which hotels give > discounts for his patients to get a better deal. i needed a room > for 3, kitchen, and wireless internet access from the rooms... so > homestead village was the ideal choice for us. nothing fancy at > all, but only $58/night. check out alamo if you need a car rental. > let me know if you have other ?'s. > > janice, i had my implants placed in march 1998. they were smooth > saline mentors. i was told they were placed above the muscle, but > dr. melmed told me they were half above, half below? and they were > tightly stuck to the pectoralis muscle, so it took some effort on > his part to detach and remove en bloc, but he did it. i think it > took about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. i did not get a lift. > > as for my progress today, i do feel much better since getting the > drains removed. most of the post-op pain is soreness in my > pectoralis muscles, so it hurts whenever i accidentally use them. > as for my body aches, like you all said.. it's going to take time. > it's still too early to tell, but i do wanna say that it seems a > little bit better? for now, i'll just focus on drinking lots of > water to flush out my system. > > i will continue to update my progress as things change! > > peace, > lisa
Guest guest
Roxanne, I also had the same pains you are having right after surgery (when I was at home). I found that sleeping in the recliner helped because I didn't try and roll around as much. Also I had lots of shoulder (referred) pain that the meds helped with. Glad you have made the life changing decision and I hope you have quick recovery to begin to enjoy this great opportunity. I am sure the pain will dimenish for the most part maybe tomorrow or next day.// Roxanne, Actully, i felt like i had been kicked by a mule in my left side! The pain meds will help along with rest. I remember it being about 10 days or so, then suddenly it was gone! Good luck on the first days of your journey, its like baby steps before you fly !!
