Boy, have I heard that story at least a hundred times. It is so hard to

make those valves work right. I hope they are better today for all the

unsuspecting women out there getting these time bombs in their chests!

I'll bet you are just very glad they are out of your body!

Hi Lynda,

Dr Blais says that 50% of my type of implant valves are defective, so

when we get two implants, we have a very high chance of these leaky

valves in one or both implants. He says the manufacturer is fully

aware of this and sells them anyway. Go figure!

Consider how ethical I think they are (not!), it does not surprise me that

they would sell them with defects. After all, we were all lied to about

the dangers of silicone. They knew and did not tell us.

And the FDA lets them get away with this. Tch! Tch! For Shame!

We went there and tried to tell them about the saline implants. We told

them the horror stories. But they said that the overwhelming need of women

for these implants was the most important factor, and they allowed them anyway.

Sometimes I have felt that going to the FDA and fighting this battle is

like tilting at windmills, or like beating your head bloody on a brick

wall. And at our own expense, no less.

Ann,

When did you send your implants to Dr Blais? I sent mine the end of

March and haven't heard back from him.

Thanks,

Beth

Hi Beth,

I sent them a couple weeks after my explant on March 25, 2004. I

just heard from him by letter yesterday. Maybe you should call if

you don't hear from him in a few weeks. I know he has boxes and

boxes of implants at his lab.
