Guest guest
Oh darn, now don't go getting upset over this...I think Lynda's intentions are good, and I think she is being careful enough to say what she has experienced, just like we have encouraged everyone to do when they have experiences that are worth sharing, positive or negative. She did say that Dr. was the one who was able to diagnose her fine neurological damage, and that was a very positive thing. She has seen him, been his patient. She knows probably more about him than we do. Certainly more than I do. I think we need to be careful of jumping on a bandwagon that we don't have all the answers to. Of course we want to be studied, and we want to be validated. But what about the questions...what do we know about this study? Do we know for certain that there are no costs involved? Where is the funding coming from? These are questions I have, and I am glad someone is trying to do this, but let's stay calm and collected about it. Remember that studies designed to find answers about implants have at times been used against us! I would love to be part of a study, but I guess I feel like my time is past....I am healing. If I was going to be studied, I would rather have been studied before I was implanted, while implanted, and then after I got sick to show what was going on and how implants were a part of that. If that is the goal of this study and the researchers are footing the bill, then that is great. I hope they find out all the answers we are looking for, about why we get sick, and how we heal. However, what I think Lynda is being honest about (and I know her heart, because we emailed back and forth about this first) is that there may be costs involved that are way more than what most women can bear, and just not to get our hopes up too high only to be disappointed. I think that is healthy. Remember, Dr. has been around for a long time, and involved in this issue for many years....the answers may not be arrived at in the manner we hope for. Surely he has experience with implanted women, but also remember that he is an MD, trained to use drugs and surgery as his arsenals. Perhaps that is what Lynda was referring to. Most of us would rather heal naturally. I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, and I am really sorry that these words were exchanged. I think any study that wants to find answers for us could be a great thing, but please, let's not be getting frustrated with each other, but realize that truth and honesty are always good when discussing what can be experienced, based on what we've known to be true in our own lives. Above all, trust God first! Hugs to all, Patty > what we lack is proof, we need proof. A good research study will > randomly sample the entire population, he is a researcher and a > doctor.
