Guest guest
, Maybe they will do a different series. The guy I talked to said he has talked to many women with silicone poisoning. He really did seem sympathetic and for some reason MTV is interested in this subject. They may do something on all the teenagers wanting to have this surgery. I'm not exactly thrilled to go on national tv and share my pain, etc, but it's more than about me now. I've been getting emails from my story on explantation.com and a lot of questions. I think while Kacey's story is still fresh is a great time for us to share the real risks. hugs, Beth > > > >Hi everyone, > > > > > > > >I just wanted to ask you all to keep me in your thoughts and > > > >prayers. Guest guest
Beth: I hope it's a SERIOUS story they will do on your experience and give your story equal time as they will a pro-implant story. From what I've heard about Kacey's story (I did not see it myself), is they whitewashed her story. I would inquire and get in writing how they intend to edit your story. I was invited to do my story on MTV back in 01--not on implants directly rather being a victim of PS butchery. I had the feeling it was more fluff than seriousness. Anyway, hopefully a serious news organization will pick up your story so you can tell the brutal truth of it all and hopefully no "whitewashing" will occur. Do the MTV story if what they offer you in writing takes this issue seriously and not as a footnote sandwiched in between mostly pro-implant hype. My story is featured in the Washington Post. Equal story time was given to my story as well as the woman who liked her implants. Kaufman did a fine job on the story but didn't go into enough detail about how disfigured I had become, I was a bit disappointed about that--and also they got my age wrong. Guest guest
Even though Kacey's story was short, if it wasn't for her story...I wouldn't be here. Because of her story I realized my implants were to blame for my crazy illness. I never heard of anyone getting sick from saline. After watching that show I finally had an answer (something the doc's couldn't give, they called me a medical mystery). I am eternally grateful to her... she has helped me so much. It would be wonderful if they gave more time about the negatives but I am fortunate to have turned on that show when I did (I don't normally watch mtv). I felt it was a message from God. I am scheduled for my explant this Thursday!! I can't wait... I just pray I get better. I can't take being sick anymore. Guest guest
Oh, I totally agree with you and hope you get on the show. I was just saying that, I wasnt going to jump over the reality of why I got them, and label it "to look like a hollywood face" I truely thought there was something wrong with me, and that is sad. The truths are, we are a society with extreme pressures placed on our young girls, and the glorification of plastic surgery to fix "what should never be." I also had different reasons, like going through multiple MS tests at the time, as I was very ill, and them pressuring me to come out 2 days later.I didnt like having to make a rash decison when it comes to being on the media, esp MTV. They realy wanted me. But the timing , and having to jump "right now" wasnt right. I'm all about it being more than about me, I speak about it in churches, and will be at Curves,a chain workout program. I do alot of community work. And talk to alot of women. Not tv, or anything big, I wouldnt want to travel as I'm a mom 1st- always. My decisions have already impacted Tlyer enough already. Good luck, beth.
