Guest guest
Twinlab, KAL, Rainbow Light, and Solaray make chewable calcium citrate. UpCal D, which is calcium citrate in powder form, can be added to foods and beverages. As a last resort, pts. could try crushing calcium citrate tablets or letting them dissolve in water. Guest guest
I usually recommend Calexcel which is a liquid calcium citrate supplement with vit.D. 2Tbsp/day contains 1000mg of calcium citrate. I'm from Canada and we get it here at Walmart or any other pharmacy. > > > I know that the topic of the chewable Citracal ( " creamy bites " ) has > come up before, but several of my patients have been having difficulty > finding it recently. Guest guest
I believe that the pharmacy at most Walmart stores are able to order these products, and the patient can pick them up there. Also, I spoke to a CS rep from Citracal, and we can still purchase them from www.drugstore.com. She could not tell me if they were going to continue producing them or not. Alot of help she was. Another option to consider is carrying the Bariatric Advantage or Building Blocks supplement line in your outpatient pharmacy within the hospital. We are in the process of setting this up right now. Patients are able to purchase a RYGB or LAGB kit prior to d/c and can get auto-shipment every 3 months if they choose to. > > > I know that the topic of the chewable Citracal ( " creamy bites " ) has > come up before, but several of my patients have been having difficulty > finding it recently.
