Guest guest
Hi everyone, We have a young woman, 1 year post-Roux-en-Y, who is several months pregnant. Our nurse practitioner took her off the Optisource, saying she should not have more than 5,000 IU's Vitamin A a day. Optisource contains 7500 IU, if taking 4X/d, and is labeled vitamin A acetate. I thought the 5,000 IU limit applied to those without malabsorption, but am unsure if the higher dose is more of a risk during pregnancy. Am looking for thoughts on this, Thank you, Merri Lou Dobler, MS,RD,CD Rockwood Bariatric Specialists, Spokane
