Guest guest
--- Hi, Im back, and thanks for everyones sympathies. It was very unexpected. My parents were getting ready to leave the house to go work out like they do every day, and my dad went to brush his teeth. After about ten minutes, my mom went to see what he was doing, and he had collapsed between the bathroom sink and the door, she couldnt push the door open, so called 911. The police came first, got my dad out of the bathroom, plopped him on the floor, and said, " lets wait for the EMT's to get here " . I understand it was likely my dad was already gone, but it was very upsetting to my mom that she called for help, and they didnt even try. Just told her to go to the other room and sit down and relax. yeah, right!! once we got to the hospital, and they had informed us he was gone, they invited the family back to have one last look. My mother, siblings(I didnt go, I had seen him at the house) and his grandchildren all went back, and got to see their last memory of him with his eyes staring open, then tubes still in his mouth, and blood all over. The room hadnt been cleaned or anything. It was upsetting enough but this made it even more so. Im mad, and plan to send a letter about it to someone, once I figure out who to send it to! The day of the funeral was hard, and Brennan acted sort of off, but I thought it was due to stress. In the midst of the dinner he started puking, and by the next day, was admitted for dehydration, they kept him for a couple days. I always ask for the kids labs when we have gone to have a procedure or admission at a hospital other than the one our ID and pulmo are at, so I asked the day we left. The nurse said sure, went to get them, came back and said that parents are no longer allowed to look at their own kids labs??? not sure what was up with that. Then he picked up a resp infection that he brought home to the other three kids and my DH. The last two weeks have been a big bowl of fun! NOT!! and ID called today to tell me based on Donovans last labs, he wants to restart his IVIG--he's been off since July. So now all three are back on. Which is okay, with me, I guess, I just was sort of hoping at least one of the three had dodged this bullet. hopefully things settle down soon! valarie mom to 3 w/cvid In , Ursula Holleman <uahollem@...> wrote: > > > Valarie - I am sorry for your loss. Guest guest
Hi Valarie, I'm so sorry about your Dad. That sounds awful, all that your family has been through. It must seem like one slap after the other. Biggest hugs for you, I hope things start looking up soon. Tiff Re: off for a while --- Hi, Im back, and thanks for everyones sympathies.
