Guest guest
Cricket I was on here about 7 months ago, talking about this plan! I told Patty to add it to our links. I love it, and not only is it a gentle but effective cleanser (you will see why they call it a flush-really!) but it also targets and finds common food allergies, to eliminate, as they trigger immunity problems and keep you from getting well. I loved it, esp flushing the lymphatic system and targeting cellulite with the various uses, like a trampoline. and will be going back on it, as I fell off. I also figured I really had a gluton intolerance from the diet and pursued being tested for it, which I do have.I love it, tell me how you feel on it ! Oh, and the flax seed oil, I can not live without it! my hair and skin is awesome! Original Message ----- From: cricket5643000 Sent: Sunday, August 22, 2004 10:19 AM Subject: Everyone Have any of you tried "The Fat Flush Plan" Its a diet for cleaning out the liver and the lymphatic system, to help clear toxins and lose weight. It is by Ann Louise Gittlema. I bought her books and after reading the program, it is so much of what we talk about here. One of the things in the program she has you do every day is drink this cranberry water mix. 8 glass's a day. this is supposed to eliminates water retention, cleanses accumulated wastes from the lymphatic system and also helps to clean up cellulite. She also tells you that you need to take 2 table spoons of flax seed oil a day. I thought I would give this a try.Oh for all those ladys that what to exersize to sweat out the toxins, she writes that all you need to do to flush out the toxins through the lymphatic system is to bonce on a small tampoline 5 min. a day or brisk walk, but must be moving your arms 20 min. a day. but you need to be drinking water and the cranberry water. The cranberry juice is unsweetend constrate and you use 4oz of that and 28 oz of water. Than drink 8ozs 8 times a day.You do this for two weeks along with healthy eating and some other stuff.I will let you all know how its working. Started this morning. She does have a web site if you what to check into it.Love Cricket
Guest guest
and cricket I have kept the fat flush plan in the back of my mind as something I may want to try, but I am actually underweight. I would do it for toxin elimination. I am confused about flax seed oil though. It is supposed to be so good for you but then I have read a couple of articles about men and flax seed oil and prostrate cancer link. Why is it everytime they say something is good for you they come back and say something negative? I never know what to try and what not to. About a year ago, I tried flax seed oil and cottage cheese, but it gave me a stomachache and indigestion. So I quit. I have heard much good about it though. I am wondering if I should try again. I have made some progress and maybe I would absorb it better this time. ANy thoughts? By the way, I did the salt water flush on friday. It gave me some cramping and I am not sure it cleaned me all the way out. Anyway, I fasted friday and until sat nite late. I used the lemon/maple syrup drink. Not sure if I see any improvement, but how the heck does someone fast 10days? I think I might have been able to hold out until sun. am. but that would have been it. Has anyone on this site fasted five or more days? I am curious how they did it. Thanks Hugs, kathy > > Cricket I was on here about 7 months ago, talking about this plan! > I told Patty to add it to our links. Guest guest
Kathy, you are right, you hear one thing- think you got it, and then bam. More stinkin' news that NOW it isn't good. Flax seed? I think it is good for me. For most women. Go by how you feel on it for a week. Fish oil made me sick, even to the point of burping it up. Yes, even the fresh stuff Mercola told me to get. But he burps all through my appts, me and my hubby laugh about it. We cant even hold a straight face, and I bet it is all that damn fish oil! Please, I cant stand no fish taste coming up in my mouth. EWWW! So, I figure- Flax is the other omega, and I know I need it, some say it is not as good as fish, some say it is better for women. But at least I am on an omega. They can fight over which is better, I know at least I am taking one of them. So its good enough. Ha HA (BTW- Dr Kolb is a huge advocate for Flax. ) I say, if you feel good on it for a few weeks, there's your answer. What works for the goose, type of thing. My hair is thick and shiney, my joints feel looser, and my hormones are more settled. I just feel, more relaxed on it. best way to sum it up. Not so nervous. Energy too, but not speedy. Another thing, flax is very healing to the digestive track and helps bind with toxins and flush it out of the colon, you may have been experiencing a herx, or things getting moved about. Does that make sense? Helps me eliminate, that’s for sure. Guest guest
: I find that if I take flax seed in the gel capsule form, it doesnt repeat on me. I think it has been a big help in my hair loss issue. Since I've been taking it (6 caps a day) along with biotin, my hair isnt falling out anymore! It works for me!!! Guest guest
Oh my God, Kathy. That is thyroid, thyroid, thyroid. Only thyroid. Ill tell you why- Mercola and my thyroid specialist and from books I have read, ( I swear I know the front and back about thyroid as I have had so many problems in treatment for so long-and I have studied it and hormones very in depth) the only thing that causes eyebrow hair loss on the outer 3rd of the eyebrows-is thyroid related only. I lost almost half my eyebrows, had to line them in. I also lost body hair, head hair ,had light pubic hair, sparse arm pit hair and eyelashes- there actually came a time I only had to shave my legs once a week the hair was so sparse. Other conditions can cause loss of body hair, but mainly thyroid is the culprit. However thyroid is the only cause of losing hair on the eyebrow. I have been told that several times. Spefically by Mercola and my thyorid specialist. Look at www.drlowe.com, under symtpoms, thyroid and metabolic resitance, both thyroid conditions, casue eyebrow loss. Get tested, if you are ok, see a specialist that deals with subclinical hypothyroisim, or thyroid resistance. ALso check out www.thyroidabout.com or is it www.aboutthyroid.com ? Guest guest
, Hi and Welcome. I am sorry to differ with you. Just becasue i am a fat flusher and also have done both fish and flax! The Flax I take is highly beneficial in Omega 3's, and has what fish doesnt-high lignan content. And for me, he he- no burping! It has been proven to help and pevent arthritis, cancers, heart infarction, and other diseases. I get Barleans' Highest Lignan Flax Seed oil, dated freshed pressed and pure organic-and firmly agree with Louise Gittleman in her belief on how detoxing flax seed oil is for the body. It has high omega 3's- minerals, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and even mucilage for easier digestion. That also helps glucose levels in the blood, which makes it easier on the adrenals. Which goes with the whole fat flush plan. Relieve the adrenals and cortisol. I had incredible results with this plan, and even when I fall off of it, I sitll do the flax as I feel incredible on it. I just had to say what worked for me, and I dont think the fish oil works as good on this plan, not that fish oil isnt unbelievably awesome in other aspects- dont get me wrong! But on this plan- it does not have the digestion properties, as the flax does. Thats why I think, Flax is recommended. Anyway, I agree with you, that Fish is very good for you! But i also think a good flax oil, is also just as beneficial. >From: " Cochran" <marycochran@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: Everyone >Date: Sun, 22 Aug 2004 13:11:47 -0400 > >Hi Cricket > >I'm , a nurse wellness educator who has a saline implant post mastectomy in 1996. I often refere to her book, Your Body Knows Best. I have used the fat-flush plan myself and with some women who are in a weight/fat loss program. It's a good place to start to begin to clean out toxins and release fat. Here is where I differ - I use cod liver oil rather than flax seed oil.because our bodies need the EFA's found in Omega 3 fatty acids. Flax seed contains an overabundance of DHA's or Omega 6's. We all ready have too many in our diet so that's a problem. The substitute works well. > >I have modified the program to include nutrients of my choice. > > Cochran > Everyone > > > Have any of you tried "The Fat Flush Plan" Its a diet for cleaning > out the liver and the lymphatic system, to help clear toxins and > lose weight. Guest guest
Kathy, Be very careful. You know what happened to and I. Mercola says 3.0 and higher is cause for concern--this sounds right to me. If your TSH is around 1.0-2.0 that's good. If if not broke, don't fix it. Don't go to a quack--you could end up in the ER or worse...... Hugs, LMJOSEPH PALANCA <juliejp61@...> wrote: Oh my God, Kathy. That is thyroid, thyroid, thyroid. Only thyroid. Guest guest
Kathy, Be very careful. You know what happened to and I. Mercola says 3.0 and higher is cause for concern--this sounds right to me. If your TSH is around 1.0-2.0 that's good. If if not broke, don't fix it. Guest guest
Maire, I definitly see your concerns. But I have to add my two sense. What was done to you and was very wrong, but these doctors, "suprise!" Didnt seem to be knowledable thyroid specialists. (Took me over 4 docs to find one.) I advised Kathy to find one off the thyroid support group, because of mishaps like yours. 's doctor should have never placed her on thyroid meds, and the amount of them by one symptom, and by being at the "higher or lower range". Other issues should have been found, symptoms to correlate, and placed together to make a good judgement. She should have been thoroughly evaluted, even with more blood work.I remember being the one that told she was sounding like she was hyper and what were her blood results. I was glad I could help her!It was so scary to her, losing all that hair all the sudden! Second, I never would do 's treatment, where you are blindly placed on higher and higher amounts of cycling t3 to override his so called "resitance theory" . It must have be frightening. I am suprised you didnt have a heart attack. Thank God. This is not the thyroid resitance I am speaking of. Going to a knowlegdable doctor who does run blood work, yet doesn't always go by the tyranny of the testing to the "T",but sees it as a sign of thyroid issues, looks into physical emaxinations every time he sees you, knows about metoblic responses and how they work and sees you frequently as he ups your dosages carefully to watch for any minute changes of too much medication, and also should raise you up very slowly. 's symdrome tratement is hard to come by, and is not raised up slowly. Too potent, too fast. He was sued by a lady that had a heart attack. And I think the treatment is very rash in most cases.Well ,like yours.. Our bodies work within a calm balance, it causes upheaval to excessivly treat anything. However, hypothyroidism, whether left untreated or undertreated, is far more dangerous than a proper treatment of thyroid dmeds. You are at a higher risk of a heart attack, diabetes, hypoglycemia, higher cholesterol levels, and many more slow debilitating symptoms and illnessses.Even mnetal disorders. Slow metabolisms dont even detox properly, with smaller amount of white cells, and that in why is specualted that people who are hypothyroid are far more at risk for cancer. Your body is simply just getting by, and cannot work properly at processing toxins, fighting infections, and eliminating them properly. When I discuss the thyoid resistnce, or getting treatd for hypothyroism, I mean rational, effective treaments with specialists. And it has saved my life. It is very safe. I know you and had bad experineces ,but neither of you should have ever been placed on meds to begin with. Anyway, I am praying for your hair girl! Guest guest
: You're right about not being a specialist. I can't speak for but I know in my case, my doc was not a thyroid specialist(he was/is an endo wannabe) , he was a follower--that says it all. Scary stuff. BTW, I found my doctors name on that aboutthyroid.com. I learned my lesson. I should not have been put on ANYTHING, fast, slow or in between. I went down to a quarter grain and was still hyper. This over prescribing thyroid medication is quackery run amok. If you body needs thyroid, it will WELCOME a small dose. I have some of those "symptoms" these docs love to tout as hypo symptoms, dry skin, hail loss, heavy painful periods. What they don't get is these can be from a multitude of reasons. But then that doesn't sell I guess. Even Mercola thinks this has run amok and that the TSH over 3.0 should be considered--not these other folks--they treat with thyroid meds with 2.0 and less. Guest guest
Thanks julie. I suspected the eyebrow thing was thyroid but the pubic hair I thought might be more sex hormones. I wonder if I should get my testerone tested while I'm at it. Have you had that done? I guess I really don't want to deal with this because I am thin and they always tell me no way it isn't your thyroid and my tests are always normal. I know that i would have to go to a specialist like you do to have someone even take me seriously. Hugs, kathy >
Guest guest
Marie, and it wasn’t your fault at all. Please don't take it that way. That doc should know better, and syndrome is very very controversial, and at the least, the patient needs to be monitored on a weekly basis. Those rapidly increasing dosages are very scary. I know when you have Hashimoto's or an auto immune illness, affecting the thyroid or endrocrine system, it has been shown that on a celullar level you are not functioning properly and need more. The cells are just not absorbing the hormones correctly. I hope finding that I have Celiac disease, and cutting out all gluton products, will slow this resistance down, help my thyroid (as many studies show thyroid antibodies go away after gluton is removed) and place me at a lower dosage! Please! Its unbelievable though, I really believe in thyroid resistance-(not nec. 's) levels are off the charts, and I am not exhibiting any hyper symptoms, (racing heart beat, fast metabolism, loss of hair) while fibro like symptoms are gradually dissapearing. And I am feeling more close to optimal Finally. But I totally agree with you ,in most cases, going by blood work will do the trick. Guest guest
Your welcome Kathy. might I suggest going to www.salivatest.com and having some saliva tests run? They are well known, and I love the company. Only lab, they don’t sell products, which is nice to know. That way you know they aren't trying to tell you need this, or that. Ect. it helped me a great deal. I did estrogal, testosterone, progesterone, thyroid, and AM and PM adrenals. I think its 30 per hormone. Love you, Re: Everyone Thanks julie. I suspected the eyebrow thing was thyroid but the pubichair I thought might be more sex hormones. I wonder if I should getmy testerone tested while I'm at it. Have you had that done? I guessI really don't want to deal with this because I am thin and theyalways tell me no way it isn't your thyroid and my tests are alwaysnormal. I know that i would have to go to a specialist like you do tohave someone even take me seriously. Hugs, kathy>
Guest guest
Kathy, I have done numerous fasts, and I would suggest first reading Dr. Fuhrman's book Fasting and Eating for Health, for anyone who wants to try doing some long term fasting. I would also suggest finding a doctor who can supervise you through your first fasts. The more knowledge you have about the process, and the more you understand it, the better off you will be in terms of success. I have fasted 5 days, 7 days, and 10 days with no food, only water. The 10 day-er was brutal. I will not do that again. I also did a 14 day juices only fast, which wasn't as bad, but by the end, I craved being able to chew food. The temptations and desires for food can really become overwhelming. You asked basically, " how they did it " . Answer: I just stopped eating! LOL. Seriously though, it was more of a mental effort than anything else. Once you are MENTALLY prepared for fasting and your mind is set like steel, then you just go about your business and forget thinking about eating. You find other things to do, and of course, it helps to keep God in your mind as you focus on the spiritual aspects of fasting as well. You gradually reduce your energy expenditures so that you are not overdoing it (walking is okay on fasts, but definitely not sweat inducing killer workouts!) and as your fast progresses, you experience a feeling of being lighter on your feet, a sense of clearing and more energy. However, herxing can probably be expected as well, especially in the first few days as toxins are released in large amounts into the blood stream and the liver works overtime to deal with the residuals of digestion from your last meals. Overall, a long term fast is a great challenge that is, as I said, more mental effort than anything else. I don't know how to answer " how did you do it? " other than to say it is like running a race, more like a marathon, and pushing yourself to the farthest of your limits. You recognize that you are going to endure hardship. The best thing I have done when tempted on my fasts is to tell myself " the food is going to be there in a few days. I can buy ______ again, I can eat it anytime I want after my fast. Just not now, I will not eat yet. " Knowing that I can eat what I desire at any time in the future makes it bearable. I think it is a good point that has been made about nutrients and for those who are thin to be careful and be supervised during fasts, but I also do firmly believe that fasting is one of the most effective methods for helping the body to heal and cleanse. It really allows the liver to rest and rejuvenate. 2-3 day fasts are fine. I do not see the problem with doing these at all, as long as you are eating good quality foods for the most part the rest of the time. The liver does store some nutrients, so depletion is not a concern unless one were doing too many prolonged fasts. Like I said, I won't do such long ones again. It was really hard, and I think the 1-3 day fasts are just as effective. Fasting is a discipline, and you really learn to read your own body through these experiences. One day fasts are much easier to do, and I know that it is a practice that has been around for centuries, so there is nothing to fear. I do not feel that they are as dangerous as some people make them out to be, knowing that devout Jews used to fast twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) and that people the world over for centuries have used fasting as part of medicine. If God says it's okay, then I trust that to be the case. (And you do find out how much willpower you have!) Guest guest
Hi Ladies, Well I took my son for the ionic cleanse. The one that Mercola endorsed. It was pretty interesting and I would definitely say it is a legitimate detox. I watched as my son's skin went from red to a more normal color and the water went from cloudy to yellow to orange to orange with globs of orange in it. It was pretty gross. Also he said his shoulder that he had injured was hurting. It says on the site that you are not supposed to herx but he did. Just like when he got the cranio sacral adjustments. About two hours after the treatment he got extremely angry. He ended up throwing my phone and breaking it but I couldn't even get mad at the poor kid. I could see that he didn't want to be angry but just couldn't help it. Just how toxic is this kid? Anyway, I just wanted to give you all the information in case anyone wants to try it. It cost $40.00. Love to all, Anita Re: Hi - yes, I have the steri strips on -- and Dr. Feng told me they look nice - that I will be happy -- but, I don't know -- I can't imagine what they are going to look like. I have to keep concentrating on the fact that it's all over now and I can focus on health. She did say that same thing that you said - if I wasn't sick before, I probably won't be sick after.....my rupture was pretty bad. I lost a lot of muscle in there......during the surgery. Did you too? Was yours a bad rupture?
Guest guest
Wow, anita! Can you send me a link re this? Guest guest
, I don't have the link from Mercola's site anymore but if you go to www.Q2.com.au you can investigate a different brand of basically the same machine. Of course the lady that did the cleanse said this one is better.
