Guest guest
Cricket, its the best investemnt you can do. I have had a personal gym set up, now moved to my basement for over 7 years. Make the time, get lots of different tapes and machines slowly over time-so oyu never get bored for a second. And do it everyday, turn off the phone, and be serious about your "allotted time", and the dust will never settle! Me and my hubby need to buy me a new treadmill (I call him Tready) as I have had it over 7 years and it is starting to go! We were saying I do about 5 miles 4 times per week on it, so for 7 years I have walked/jogged over 7200 milies on that puppy! Wow! No wonder it is pooping out......I also want an eliptical .Sears has somegreat ones on sale. Im going this weekend. >From: Trish Trish <harvest2harvest@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Turning my garage into a gym. >Date: Wed, 28 Jul 2004 08:07:51 -0700 (PDT) > >That's great Cricket! > > >cricket5643000 <cricket5643000@...> wrote: >When I was so upset about my thyroid yesterday and not being able to >lose weight. Guest guest
Cricket, The key to my success for me was first buying equiptment I could use with my heel issues. Also stuff that would be easy on my knees and that I new how to use or that was easy enough to figure out. The bowflex was the best investment for me that I ever made cause it is the best way I can find to lift and get buffed and get the resistance trainng without having to buy a ton of stuff, but hey if you have the room and can have a good weight lifting set that will work too. You can do allot with dumbells and 's idea is good for you to get some tapes to show you things to do at home with certain equiptment that you do have. Treadmills are not my favorite thing but that is cause they hurt my heels bad, so if your feet and knees are ok it is probably the best thing out there for you to use to burn calories and melt fat. Stair climbers are pretty good too. I opted for the eliptical and the bike for me cause that is less pain on my heels. I also think having a regular bike is nice cause when it is beaufiful out sometimes you just want to be out in it not locked away in doors all the time. Are you a runner or walker on the treadmill? I have a few friends here in town that love to run on the treadmill who say they cannot run outside. I wonder if that is how most people are? Was the treadmill pricey? Some of the stuff i got was pretty cheap but trust me it works well enough and you don't have to spend $5,000 a machine to get a good work out. ANyhow I am so happy and proud of you to have done this, because I know that your gonna stick to it and look fabulous. It will really help your metabolism to start working better and hopefully help that darned thyroid. Well girl let me know how it goes, stick with it, don't let it gather dust, maybe having to pay that bill will help you to stick with it huh? Gosh I know a few peple who have brand new stuff that never use it so DON " T DO THAT OK? Hee hee, you seem like your strong willed and will def find time to use it! anyhow best go and finish rambling , " JOSEPH PALANCA " <juliejp61@m...> wrote: >
