Guest guest
we have one with our support group every 3 months, and it has been fun. We have a clothing exchange and potluck,(bariatric approved dishes) everyone has a good time, where they can bring their family and friends and learn about eachother not just in a support group meeting set up, but really get to know about eachother. I don't believe that anyone has ever said it was cheesy, they often ask when the next one is going to be. I would advertise at the support group meetings and in a newsletter if you have one. we've never had games, people usually bring something to do, volleyball, baseball or frisbee, most of the time people just hang out and talk. We get name tags and ask them to put how many years post op or something of that nature, to start up conversation with others that are there. off the subject I just noticed that you work for forest health, which facility? I use to work at barix clinic in Holland Michigan about 4 years ago. --- jbach11 <kbach@...> wrote: > We are thinking of holding one of these, but do not > want it to > become " cheesy. Guest guest
Our support group has been considering doing a clothing exchange. How do you go about it? Do you just have people bring clothing in on certain days and have them swap? Do you sort clothes on a table, then just let everyone go through them? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Guest guest
We have an exchange room that we just recently started. We purchased 2 nice wire racks from lowe's to fold and stack clothes on and a metal rod in between to hang clothes on. We allow anyone to come and get clothes Monday-Friday 8-4:30 (we leave at 5) and during SG meetings. We ask people to bring their clothes in with hangers, and labeled areas based on sizes. We had a few volunteers organize all the clothes. I think they actually enjoy doing that themselves. We open it to all patients, not just the support groups. -----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of Cheryl DeitschSent: Thursday, May 29, 2008 8:26 AM Subject: Re: Support Group/Staff Picnic Our support group has been considering doing a clothing exchange.
