When I educate them for the first time regarding bariatric nutrition, I use " Food and nutrition-related knowledge deficit " . It's important to phrase your PES statement so that it addresses the specific intervention you made. Even though it's obvious that " obesity " is a valid diagnosis statement for bariatric patients, I'm almost always providing eduation, so I use statements that reflect that.
