Guest guest
I am 15% body fat and have never been any leaner than I am now but I never focused on getting leaner. If I lost some fat I wouldnt have to exert the extra energy moving it...wouldnt get tired out as much, and it gets hot during the summer and if I were a little leaner the heat wouldnt affect me as much as I think it will. I also have to do conditioning drills with backs who run 11.0 or better 100 meters. On the other hand, I also have to shed OL blockers so I need to keep my strength or even get stronger. At 15% body-fat, you do have fat to lose. Losing 5 kg does sound reasonable. Any more and I'd expect you to lose strength in the process, especially since you've never really been leaner, and since you've been carrying that fat despite working out regularly; I might worry that you're just not meant to be super-lean. Watch your strength level, and don't go into training camp dehydrated and carb-depleted -- and don't confuse the weight-loss from carb- and water-depletion for fat loss.
