Beth:

Hi. Is that the same Dr. --the thyroid guy?

I know some derms look at hair under the microscope to look at hair defects that can be nutritional(as in kawashkor--sp) in origin. The hair shaft condition Pili Torti (I have this) is seen in those with nutritional disorders (I was a hard core vegetarian for two years with very little fat/ protein) and see what stage the hair is in--catagen, anagen, telogen, etc. But as far as measuring toxins, I need to know more about that. I've heard that in homicides they can trace arsenic in hair, but I have heard for health/toxin analysis, it's an unreliable con that some shady docs use.

Do you have tin in your blood too?

As I said, I have to read up on this tomorrow and get back to you.

I don't know a lot about them, only that mine showed toxic levels of tin in my body. Interestingly I am one of three implant patients that was tested that had high tin. I did read that Dr only likes to use one particular lab. He's got a couple of books out on the subject, should be interesting to read.hugs,Beth> This is from Dr Lawrence, who is supposedly a noted hair analysis > expert. Hi LM

All I really know about the reports is that Dr K started using them

on her implant patients because so many of us have symptoms of MS

and heavy metal poisoning. I am one of two that tested high for

tin, another girl tested high for mercury after getting her

implants. I believe Dr K has tested high for tin at some point as

well and she developed a detox plan for that. I have been using

Cilantro, alpha lipoic acid, garlicin, etc to try to get mine down.

From reading Dr , he doesn't like to use labs that wash the

hair first. I got kind of lost reading through all his notes. He

says you can tell a lot about someone's health by their mineral

report.

I think it would be really interesting to find out how many of us

have high tin or platinum levels. hmmmm

hugs,

Beth

Hi. I did some research and sent some fwds to Patty and fwd a post myself. I don't think this hair analysis is reliable.I'm dubious of any doctor running a test like this and then selling supplements to "correct" the problem. I'd go to your GP, internist, endo what have you and have blood work done on heavy metals. If you do in fact have this tin issue, you need medical help from a doctor who specializes in toxic poisoning.

Sorry, I don't want to offend anyone but there are docs out there just waiting to swoop down like a vultures and take advantage of us. Having MD after one's name is not necessarily synonymous with do no harm or cheat patients.

In short, I would not pay money for such dubious tests. Prove they work, THEN I'll be first in line to get tested.
