He became a genious & then, just like with Molly, things didn't last & he went back to his previous state of existence. Regardless, we also enjoyed the movie. ~Sandy O. Guest guest
Molly, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I lost my mom last Thanksgiving, unexpectedly and she was 81. If I can do anything for you , don't hesitate to ask. I will say a prayer for you and your family. I must admit my mom was happy to see that I had lost weight too before her death. She knew how miserable I had always been being obese. I hated it and thank God daily for Dr. Rutledge. I am here for you! God Bless You! Lynn C. Guest guest
<<my Dad would brag to everyone about how much I'd lost and how great I look. You have no idea how happy I am that I was able to give him this small pleasure before he died. Thank you, Dr. Rutledge. Molly in Omaha>>> Molly, How wonderful that your Dad got to share in your success and your journey through weight loss. And that he told you how he felt. My Dad died (at just 66) when I was 4 mos post-op and he saw that I was losing weight. But two months after I had my surgery he was diagnosed with Leukemia so the focus was never really on my weight loss but rather on loving and cherishing him as long as we had him here. I do remember one thing my husband told me. I had my surgery on June 17 and my family took me out to the Outback for my birthday. I was able to eat a few bites of salad, baked potatoe and chicken. BUT the funny thing is that I left my pocket book. We drove away and I remembered it so my Dad turned around and we went back. When got there I JUMPED out of the car and RAN inside. I later found out that he was sitting in the car laughing and smiling in joy at seeing his still very obese daughter able to jump up and move so fast. I was very sluggish at 384 lbs and by then I probably weighed 320-or 330 or so. Still large. I never knew they had this conversation until one day Rudie shared it with me because I was missing my Dad and Mom and wishing they could see me now. He always tells me that they are seeing me and they are proud. I hope that this time is not so difficult for you and that you find some peace and joy in knowing the relationship you had with your Dad and all the pride he had in you and your decision to take charge and change your life thr WLS. Guest guest
Hi there! Welcome to the group! I'm sorry that you are such a time of it. Most, if not all certainly understand the frustration with some doctors and their so-called bedside manner. Are your doctors, mainly the Neurologist and Rheumatologist conferring with each other? It very well may be that you have more than one condition. Unfortuneately, it does occur. It can also be something as simple as discerning what and which it/they may actually be. So many have similar symptoms and others mask symptoms, some piggy-back others. I know it is all so confusing and frustrating!!! I certainly can relate more than you'll ever know. I have had years of neglect on the part of my doctors here where I currently am. Conflicting opinions from another state. I am at my wits end with no answers as of yet. I am usually dismissed as hysterical or neurotic. Right now I think that the Neurologist in Wyoming has ruled out MS? The non-board certified Neurologist here in Kansas hasn't even bothered to notify me for weeks now as to whether or not I have a brain tumor. Thoughtful guy! I'm not trying to scare you, mine is seemingly a rare situation!!! My doc that I seen in Wyoming when I was scared out of my mind when my mother suddenly up and died from lung, kidney and heart failure at 63 seems to be the only one who is even attempting to take me seriously! I have got further with her testing results than any other doctor in more than 3 years!!! So there is hope! I think that the information provided here in this group will help you understand and become familiar with the various illnesses they are considering on your behalf. It will help you in so many ways, not just in understanding symptoms but, in other areas as well such as but not limited to meds, diagnostic tools, which physician for what have you, how to talk with your doctors, on and on! It has helped me in so many ways! I am confident that you will benefit from it as well! The people here are so supportive and kind, I can't begin to tell you how wonderful they are!!!!! You can come here to vent your frustration at any time and we will all more than understand! You can ask questions and meet new friends who will most likely become as if your family! That alone, having someone supportive and understaning is worth it all! I wish you luck and hope that other members will respond to your questions with more specific information! Take care and God Bless! Kim

Guest guest
Thanks again...Looks like I read it wrong but glad you corrected me and hopefully it helped Chris. :-) To find the setting you go to the drop down list on File and then to the setting for page setup and select; and it will have a radio button in it to select either portrait which is like having the piece of notebook paper and writing on it or if you choose landscape it prints on the paper like you are drawing a landscape, wider than tall. You might play with it for a message or two. You will have to reset it to portrait to have it print in the most used way. If you print a lot of stuff you can highlight the text you want to print then go to the file drop down and select print. It has 3 options to print; all; pages; or selection. If you select selection it only prints what you highlighted. Saves a lot of ink. You can also set up a specific file for tips etc. that you would want to save and copy and paste to a file that is off line. Guest guest
You are so funny! You stole my line about being a beached whale. lol Another good one is I don't want to confuse them, they have outlawed whaling. lol All fun is aside though when you look into the terrified eyes of someone trying to help you and they are contemplating what they would have to do to try and keep you from falling or assist you in whatever way is necessary and not get squashed in the process. I just completed my 40 in hopes of my panas being pulled back up where it belongs and not swinging with the wind...oops it would take a hurricane to make it sway in the wind! lol If not for humor, what would we do? I want to go to Hawaii too! They sat that whales travel in families...can I be in your family????lol All jesting aside Molly, I hope you have a wonderful trip when you go to Hawaii and witness your god child getting married. Guest guest
Thanks for the clarification. I don't feel so lost now. That is a lot of children but hopefully they will have all kinds of adventures together that they can tell their kids and grandkids when they are older. What a beautiful gift. Memories, good ones can help get you through a rough time. We all have rough times so helping all the children build up a good store of memories to draw from is wonderful.
