Guest guest
: I can relate--working out makes me feel much better too. If you feel fine, do as you're doing. Patty does have a good point though in cutting way back on REFINED foods. Wholegrains and lean protein, fruits and veggies is where it's at. I cut way back on butter fat and instead use olive oil. Papaya will clean you out and of course our ALL BRAN is like a broom through the colon! I just worry that it will mess with my metabolism and slow me down and that I might gain weight, that and the total fear of not having enough energy to do my big workouts that scares me. Right now I am feeling fabulous, I just worked out with my new Dear friend , her and I are so close and she wants to really tone up her cute body and get fit and buff but not lose her natural curves, so I am trying to train her with lots of wieghts and some kick butt cardio. We are doing so much working out and I have to say I never ever felt better. I know the cardio and wieghts for me is the answer to how I feel.I have really a good overall diet, I mean I don't eat light, I can't I feel to crappy when I eat light, but I eat super healthy most all the time, I just happen to eat probably more carbs than say Patty does for example I just am able to eat whole grains and that kind of stuff. For the most part I eat a whole wheat cereal and it makes me feel terrific for breakfast, and then other wise really just veggies, tons of salads with eggs on them and fish or chicken or whatever, steak etc. I also give in to a small treat or candy bar or dessert etc. So I do eat sugar but def not tons of it.Overall right now is like the best I have felt in awhile and I am sure it is the healthy diet and the kick butt workouts. I am so grateful to god that I am able to work out the way I do because these workouts are amazing. I mean when I start I don't feel like doing it sometimes either, neither does BRandy but damn when we get going it is like the total adrenaline pumps in and just kicks me into some kind of high gear that I did not know existed but it does hee hee. I tell ya I wish everyone could work out and feel this rush because they would never want to quit.Anyhow don't mean to go on and on, I am just feeling so awesome. I want to know how I can do a cleanse without fasting, is that possible girl? Cause would like to do one with me and that would be cool to have a realy live person with me to do it, but we are not wanting to fast. I would like to try a fast someday, but like I said I just don't want to lose the feeling I have right now and I am terrified fasting would mess me up.I don't know. I am pretty anal about my weight and shape and size and all that, it might seem selfish but I worked so hard to lose the wieght 8 years ago and I have kept it off all this time and I refuse to gain an ounce back hee hee. I really love being fit. It is a fabulous feeling, but at the same time I do know I need to cleanse my system I am sure of it.So if you have any ideas about how I can cleanse things without actually giving up food let me know.Your so sweet and such a good person, I really hope you know that I care deeply for you and I feel bad if there were some times I came off bitchy or mean. I have been deeply praying for god to help with my attitude, I pray that it shows a bit in my posts recently and that the group all knows how much I care and love you all!HUGS the exercise freak wrote:> -> > Don't feel bad. Guest guest
- I understand what you are saying about not wanting to mess with things that are working good for you. Sometimes it seems like things don't go the way you thought they would. For instance, I did the sonne fast with the psyllium and bentonite shakes. I did it for almost 3 days. It was supposed to clean out your intestines and get plaque off the walls. It did do that somewhat, but I really felt that my digestion didn't work the same after that. I developed alot of bloating and I don't know why. Maybe it was just a coincidence. But dale tried it too and he told me his digestive system was messed up for a couple of weeks. Mine is still messed up somewhat and it has been a couple of months. I have done juice fasts for a day or a day and a half and felt great. So it is hard to know what will happen. Perhaps you could just do a fast that is from late afternoon of one day to around noon the following day. Dr. Rubin talks about that kind of fast in his book " the maker's Diet " . He says that short time of fasting is still good for you. That way you could still get in an early breakfast, lunch and dinner...like say by 4pm..and fast until noon the next day. I would highly recommend his book as it might help you fine tune your diet for health. He goes into great detail about foods. I think you would find his healthy way of eating not hard to follow. He makes recommendations for types of whole grains to eat, fermented food products, organic meat and poultry, raw milk, etc. He discusses alot of other health diets out there and what their drawbacks are. I felt most of his suggestions were pretty doable. He also talks about his products some, and I think they are a great addition to anyones diet if you can afford them. I think your exercise is truly a big help to your health. Certainly it has been shown over and over that exercise is good for you. I really wish I could exercise like you. I really admire your dedication and persistence. I have been walking just about everyday and it feels real good. I hope to be able to lift weights someday and exercise more vigorously. For now, I have to do what I can. One of the hardest things about fms to understand and accept is the way it makes your body react to exercise. Even small amounts of exercise at times provoke huge reactions of pain and fatigue. And it isn't the normal kind of muscle pain that people without fms have when they exercise too hard. Not at all. I know because before I had fms I could exercise and get the normal kind of sore muscle. This is different and doesn't go away by the next day or the day after. I got an ab-doer for christmas one year and just did 10 minutes worth of exercise on it. For the next week, my back was in agony. It felt like it was broken. It is frustrating and ridiculous! But when I am ready to take on more, you can be sure I will be consulting you on what to do! I wish I had you around to show me all that stuff! I care about you too, and I know you are very intense sometimes about how you feel about something. I am too at times. I was very impressed when you said that you were praying that God would help you with your attitude. It takes a really special person to admit such a thing to others! And yes, I can tell you are modifying your tone more when you have a strong opinion. I admire you and the way you make everyone on this site feel cared about. Guest guest
Thanks Kathy, yes it is hard when you feel good to try new things. I know working out always works, and it is not something I have to wait to feel the results I feel them right away so, that makes it pretty attractive to me. Other things I have spent so much money on and half of them did nothing or are still in my cupboard, I have a ton of crap just sitting up there, I cannot take supps very well anymore, I end up just eating as much healthy stuff as I can and it seems to work ok for me. I do wake up pretty achey some days but it always goes away after a workout and a hot shower so I don't think I have FMS or ever really did. I do think I still have some issues with pain that may never go away and I know that the only way that I get rid of my little aches and stiffness is the workout/shower get going method, the more I lay around the crappier I feel so screw it I get up and get moving. There has to be others that are like me, it just seems like sometimes I am the only one like that. Anyhow I am sorry that you cannot do more working out, I really think a bowflex or even one of the other machines would do wonders for you though. It is nice and smooth and heck you can do short workouts and still get great benefits. On the thyroid issue, if your thin I would think your thryoid is working ok, unless your unusual, most people with thyroid are over weight or sluggish, you just don't sound like that to me, I could of course be wrong, I know that when they told me it was my thryoid I just blindly wanted to believe the meds were the answer to my other symptoms at that time, it was total crap, I got worse, hyper and sick and lost half my hair. I am blessed that with my working out I never gained weight or messed up my metabolism. As for fasting like you menitoned we do those for religious purposes in our church at the beggining of each month you do a 24 hour fast, we usually go from noon to noon, that I can do no problem. thanks sweetie and hope things are going good for you. hugs In , " mikat828 " <mikat828@y...> wrote: > - > > I understand what you are saying about not wanting to mess with things > that are working good for you.
