Hi Beth

Things were not great. She mostly wanted to show me off to her

friends, who are all so silly and think I look 21 years old ha ha.

Then she wanted me to meet her boyfriend who is actually a pretty

nice and shy and quite young kid. He really seemed nice and he told

she sould come to visit me in Idaho so that was nice of him to

say that I thought.

She may listen to himm more than anyone.

I saw 's cousins my nieces and nephews. They are all kind of

messed up, the little nephews are not yet, but the older girls are

donw the self destructive path.

Thank goodness that Ariana the 14 year old left to stay with her

grandma in Minesota for the summer. That is a good thing.

Anyhow My daughter spent much of the trip on the phone with her

friends, or wanting to go on line and it was just a big hassle. She

did agree to come on a few family outings with us whih i think she

enjoyed it though, we went to the Montery Bay Aquarium, we took the

ferry boat out to Alcatraz penitentiary, and we took them to the

Beach in Marin CO that is absolutely gorgeous. It was nice.

I have a lot of photos that I can share, I just never know if people

really want to see them or not, so let me know if you want me to send

them at all.

I am going to post a few on the site of my daughter and of me and my

sister Patti, so I will anounce when it is all done,

Thanks for asking,

It went about as well as i expected it would.

Hugs

I would love to see your pics. I love to look at other peoples

pictures of their families, etc. I am sorry to hear that your trip

with daughter was not what you hoped. But as a mom of a sixteen year

old I can't say that I am surprised. Teenagers are so wrapped up in

their own little world. And phone and internet are their gods.

Seriously. I would like to make a suggestion. If you can make it

work, the best idea to bond with your daughter would be to plan a geta

way-- a day or even a weekend--with just you and her and away from

everything else. Plan it all in advance and make sure she buys into

what you have planned. Tell her you just want to spend some time with

her and no one else. That includes the phone and the internet.

Hopefully if you can convince her of how important this is to you---and

how important she is--she will agree to go. I think it is essential

though, that no one else be included. Perhaps you could go somewhere

neither of you has been to and book a hotel. Then just do whatever it

is that would be bonding----my teen loves movies, shopping, eating

out, miniature golf, etc. I know she lives far away and

that you would like her and your new family to bond also, but she has

to get to know you on a one to one basis without distraction of any

kind. If you do go, and she acts bored etc, it is just an act. She

will always remember the time you spent together---and how much you

cared to be with just her alone.
