Hi Inez,

In 2000, Medicare paid for my explantation only...the Preoperative Diagnosis was: 1. Grade 3 bilateral capsule contracture of the breasts. 2. History of Silicone gel implants. 3. Grade 3 bilateral breast ptosis.

The Postoperative Diagnoses: 1. Grade 3 bilateral capsule contracture of the breasts. 2. History of Silicone gel implants. 3. Grade 3 bilateral breast ptosis. 4. ruptured Silicone gel implants with Silicone mastopathy.

Things may have changed by now and perhaps Medicare will pay for reconstruction...I don't know. Shirley

Has anyone gotten Medicare to pay for explanatation? If so, what asthe diagnosis that covered the surgery? Did it also coveringreconstruction without implants?Inez senRenton, WA 425-255-5543
