Guest guest
I've been reading all the posts about sleep and ladies, I feel for ya! I've had terrible problems with sleep ever since getting those # & %*!*%*@@@!+!$@$* implants. (was that enough cussing??!!) Anyway, I've tried just about everything. One of the latest was Xanax. At first it seemed ok and it did help me to relax and fall asleep, but didn't really keep me asleep. After a week or so I noticed I was crying all the time. It was mostly when I was by myself at first, then I just started crying no matter where I was or what I was doing. I didn't think of myself as depressed, so I couldn't understand why I was crying all the time. I finally decided it was coming from the Xanax and I weaned myself off of it. I'm not crying anymore! It seems that for some people (me - definitely) that Xanax type meds make you even more depressed than you already are or just flat out cause depression. I remember now that I tried it about 10 years ago after hurting my neck in a car accident. The same thing happened - I cried non-stop! It took a long time to figure out it was from the Xanax back then too. Anyway, I'm glad I'm off of it. I don't want to just walk around and cry for no reason. It's no fun! I'm taking lots of Magnesium now - especially at bed-time. I'm also taking some St. 's Wort (I think Rogene suggested that). At night I've tried some over the counter stuff - Unisom - and it seems to work pretty well. I also got some earplugs! I used to be able to sleep through a tornado but since getting implants, I can't sleep if there is the slightest bit of noise. The earplugs really help. Now if I could just make my husband stop moving at night, I'd be fine! We have a waterbed, so he can't move without rocking me! O well, one thing at a time. Hope you all get some rest. It's so important for those of us with FMS. I flare big time when I have a bad night. Love to all of you. Pam
Guest guest
Pam, I couldnt agree more!!!! Since I've had these stomach and throat ulcers, my doctor gave me Xanax since he thinks they are stress related. I've have become so depressed I dont want to do anything. I tried breaking them in half and still feel depressed. My doc told me I could not just stop Xanax that I had to wean myself off...after only taking them for three weeks....then he would give me Valium to see if that helps. And the sleep I get when I take Xanax is not good. It's more like the sleep you get when you've been drinking... a lot!!!! I constantly feel hung over!!! I have Restoril that I was taking just for sleep but stopped it when he gave me the Xanax. The Restoril works great for a restful nights sleep. As soon as I'm off the xanax I will start that again!!! Guest guest
I think the fact that xanax is so short acting must have a part in why you guys are reacting to this that way. It never made me depressed, but I noticed that I def liked it more than for just night time use, so I think valium is a much better option for you. It really helps me anyhow. good luck In , Vickie <gracie17db@y...> wrote: > Pam, I couldnt agree more!!!!
