Guest guest
I have been reimplanted and yes, it was a waste of not only time but health. Your doctor is not telling you the truth. Implants are poison! anyone reimplant. has anyone reimplanted using a different implant . was it a waste of money. did u have to take them out again?. MY DOC SAID HE WOULD REIMPLANT , HE ALSO DIDNT THINK MY PROBLAMS WERE IMPLANT RELATED. HE THOUGHT IT WAS STRESS.
Guest guest
Yes. My friend in AZ is on her 3rd set of silicone implants. She had SEVERE CC, and as a result, had to get her breast tissue removed each time going in, now there's no tissue left--just hanging skin. She's keeping her implants because she does not want empty hanging skin on her chest as this would make her even more depressed than she already is. She's also sick with autoimmune illness which she attributes to her implants. Her rheumatologist feels her implants should be removed but she won't do it. She wishes she had never gone down the implant road. Had she know what this was going to do to her, she would have embraced her perky small A sized breasts. I have a friend in California from college who has re implanted--2 times going on three for CC. When I think of all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ money she has laid out is appalling. The irony is SHE LOOKED BETTER WITH HER PERKY size A (she had small one but they were playboy model like looking--perfect)breasts--now they're saggy from implants. Like me, she has had telogen effluvium following surgery (hair loss). So to sum up--she's lost almost half her hair, big bucks, downtime--for WHAT? An uncomfortable set of beach balls. So far she's not sick--but still screwed. Yes, others get re implanted. Call Dr. Kolb's office. They do a lot of re implanting after ex plant. Good luck to you. -Marieness19712001 <yagoob94@...> wrote: has anyone reimplanted using a different implant . was it a waste of money. did u have to take them out again?. Guest guest
Marie, I'm sorry but I think that was very wrong of you to say "call Dr Kolb's office they do alot of reimplanting." That is a very harsh statement, and realy is not true. It is also directed at one PS, while it should be on the contrary directed to all PS. I know for a fact all the others do. In my own personal experience with her- Dr Kolb took one look at me, and told me I had to get them out, even when I may have been open otherwise-and told me that I was severley sick, the implants were in her words- making me sick. She worked for hours to get every peice of anything left behind, and took care of me to an extent I cant explain. I believe she did the best work on me, than any other ps could have. I did not want a lolliopop, and she had the expertise to go around that, and give me another typr of lift, while others could only do that one type of lift- and they also would not fully agree with me that the implants were makng me ill. She also knew of the toxicity they create, tested me accordingly and worked with me, hours and hours after explant, no charge over the phone to order more tests through my insurance and help with supplements and detox remedies. I mean, where do you get that with a PS? I know this not to be my own experience- I have spoken and become friends with about 18 other girls I know that went to her, most wanting to keep their implants, and Dr Kolb discouraging - and explanting properly, and actually, beautifully too. I think she is getting a bad rep, and its wrong. Unless you have been patient of hers, I think its slander to make such broad statements. And I'm, not only defending her, Im defending whats the truth. Here it is -All plastic surgeons implant, and reimplant. Guest guest
All of these doctors do a lot of re-implanting, including Dr. Kolb. It is what they do, but I think they do a lot to educate women about the dangers, and after all, aren't we supporting informed consent? If women are truly informed and wish to take the risks, then we have to let them do it. It is democracy. It is the lack of information that made us ill, and most of us would not have chosen implants if we had been truly informed. Guest guest
Y'all keep saying you were not informed..my PS gave me paperwork he had typed out about the implants and dangers and also a booklet from Mentor that explained all the dangers and side effects of implants, just like you get from a pharmacy when you get medication. I was in no way uninformed, just one of the unlucky ones who could not tolerate them.. Guest guest
Vickie, When did you get them? I got mine I think in 94, and my doctor gave me the pamphlet day of surgery. Not only that ,before in consult he said women never get sick from them, and its all hogwash. That they are merely bags of salt water that would last me a lifetime. (unless I got in a car accident) Oh Vickie, I was so young, like 19 or 20! And there wasn’t really the internet available to me, as it was really new back then. I went to library but all the info was on silicone's. He didn’t go over anything with me, and I think giving it to me the day of surgery was bs! Ya know? I think that was great your ps actually typed up info, and took the time to do so! Holy Cow. Were you ever worried or no? Like intuitively? Guest guest
I was given the info on my first consultation appt. I was him twice before he made the surgery appt and hell I was 34!!! He wanted to make sure I wanted them as he said I they would always be a part of me and like with anything, drugs, surgery, screws, pins (to keep bones together) there was always a risk, a very small risk, but they were there. I read the pamplet and it did say some women have allergic reactions and such but hell, I'd worked in medicine all my life and knew there were dangers to everything. I had no idea it would be this bad. And honestly I dont think he did either. When I told him I wanted them out he said fine but suggested I go to someone who "does that more often". He was not offended nor did he make me feel bad for wanting to do it. I never felt the least bit uneasy about having it done. Did it twice actually. the first was a mastopecy, but the top of my breast were sooooo flat he put them in to give me shape then he did not like the way they looked after six months and re-did them at no charge.. I made the decision to have them done with the info I was given and take full responsibilty for that decision. I do believe his heart was in the right place.
