Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome. I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery with Melmed. I don't know him, but I've heard good things about him. I'm sorry to hear about the MS. Take Care, -Marie <mlf302004@...> wrote: Hi Ladies! I'm new here and need some comforting I guess you can say. Anyway, I of course have implants-saline smooth by Mentor. I was 24 years old when I had them implanted and now am 30 years old. I started getting wierd symptoms nine months after having them but was also pregnant too. I have noticed my symptoms are not the same as most of you which in one is a bummer b/c maybe I am just sick from something else. Basically, I have vision problems everyday. I see bright flashes of light that last from 1-15 minutes everyday throughout the day since getting them implanted nine months later. I have had extensive bloodwork done and everything had come back normal. I was diagnosed with having MS b/c I do have multiple brain lesions, but has then been ruled out through a spinal tap and an VEP test. They do not know why I have these lesions on my brain. I get tingling and numbing sensations throughout my body all the time. I can't think clearly and forget words. I have fatique, but then again I don't sleep well. I am irritable and am becoming depressed. I did have one doctor say that I could be having migraine/strokes and he feels it could be from the implants. Can you believe that? I'm confused I just don't see how implants can cause this. Anyway I have been praying alot about getting them explanted and feel as though God is leading me in this direction. I decided on Dr. Melmed in Texas. The only thing is, is that I was completely flat-chested before the implants, now I will be so ugly. Oh well, I did this to myself and this is the price I am paying for it. If only the doctor would have told me all the risks and what goes into getting them taking out when it comes time too. Anyone else out there heard of women with brain lesions, if so please let me know. Thanks to all for sharing your thoughts and stories-it helps alot! Guest guest
I am sorry your going through this and I just want to tell you that number one, I was very deformed going into implants and was sure I would come out looking horrible, rest assured if you go to a good PS that should not a problem. I required a lift, so you may want to see if that is an option. I went to dr Feng who I felt was in my case the best choice, but I have been hearing good things about Dr Mehlmed too so maybe he will be able to make you look allot better than you imagine. Second, your sysmptoms sound allot like mine, I had the visual stuff, like I always used to talk about when I first got ill it was like lights affected me very strangely and I had extreme dizzy stuff, I felt like I was on some strong hallucinogenics. You probably have not heard this since I have been well of these things for a long time and don't talk to much about them anymore, but I had them. No brain lesions but, I did not have my implants very long, so who knows, maybe if I had I would have ended up with that too. I only had mine 18 months before I got them out and i can only tell you it was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my health! I am in the best shape of my life now, down to 18 or maybe even 17% by now, in body fat and totally fit. I feel wonderful other than some little aches and pains and feel really happy with my small breasts. I have been watching the olympics and that has really shown me that fit women don't really have very large breasts. I am built allot like an olympic athlete, hell that is nothing to sneeze at hee hee. Anyhow sweetie we are all here for ya and will support you to the end with this, so hang around. Guest guest
Hi michelle Welcome to our group! I am sorry that you are having these problems. I also had mentor salines and was implanted for 11 years before I got them out. I have gotten flashes of light with my vision. But it tends to be the thing where I would go to close my eyes and a flash would seem to happen as I blinked. This seemed to happen with my right eye more than the left one. Whenever I had this symptom I usually had more--shooting pains in my head, tingling finger etc. I also have gotten alot of tingling and numbness everywhere--my face, hands, feet, legs and scalp. Now that usually comes and goes. It is gone more often than present. I too was very flat chested. More so than anyone I have personally known. I don't think I am ugly now that they are out. I am grateful I am alive and am getting better! I had so many neurological symptoms at the time of explant, they could have just cut them off for all I cared. I needed a life more than I needed breasts. Yes, I am jealous when I see the pics of women on this site post explant. They have much more than I do. But that is still insignificant compared to my health. I will say that my doctor did not recommend a lift and I should have gotten one. I definitely think the skin was stretched from having the implants. I wasn't that big--only a 34B after implant. I was probably a 34 AAA before. But still, after eleven years, my skin didn't zing back. I now have what looks like a little pouch beneath where by real breast now ends. I think if I go back and get a lift or something like that, it will look fine. I have just been concentrating on getting well. I am once again small--flat--like I was, but that is ok. There are much worse things in life. and my husband still adores me and thinks I am beautiful anyway! Hugs and best wishes, kathy --- In , " " <mlf302004@y...> wrote: > Hi Ladies! Guest guest
Wow I didn't know you had yours that long! It seems like many of the women on this site had this less time. I often think that if I hadn't already had fms I would have noticed sooner that I was getting sick fromthe implants. I blamed everything on fms until the symptoms got really really weird! The vision one really bugged me. If you tried explaining it to your family, they just thought you were nuts! kathy > > Hi Ladies! I'm new here and need some comforting I guess you can > > say. Guest guest
I know . I had mine a while. I think I didnt react for the first , gee I'd say almost 7 years before symptoms showed ,as I was so young (only 20 when I got them) and really exercised and had a healthy diet. Ive always been very strict, a little overboard really.Genetically, my family is very healthyas well. So I ithnk my immunity was realy being supported and very strong. I had age, diet , and family history all on my side. But when I did get ill -when I did, bam! It's was downhill fast, very fast. I was diagnosed with Thyroid and RA within 4 months, as well as having a bell's palsy- starting displaying many MS like symptoms and all these other problems. All at the same time. Very bad. I am glad I got them out. I realy am.
