It has almost no side effects and a lot of auxiliary benefits -Oolong Tea. *** We visited the site Harvey posted and found the article, and especially the graphics, done in Chinese from a pharmacology study (even though the site is Japanese), very interesting. In Karlis Ullis, M.D.'s book, " Age Right, " he recommends various supplements, one of which is green tea. We've been using a caffeine-free version from LEF for some time now. Our question was whether or not oolong and green tea were the same. A search of the net located the following site: http://www.mothernature.com/ency/Herb/Green_Tea.asp which says they come from the same plant, the difference being that " Green tea, unlike black and oolong tea, is not fermented, so the active constituents remain unaltered in the herb. " The article also states that green tea is beneficial for controlling triglycerides, as is oolong. My question for Harvey: Is there any benefit to oolong over green tea? Can either be taken as a caffeine-free supplement instead of in it's natural brewed state? Jim and Rosemary Vernon Venice, CA
