Guest guest
I use Benedict and use their ideal body weight. We only do a pre-surgery program if insurance requires it…otherwise, we meet w/ them 2-3 wks before surgery. If they do a pre-surgery program, they are seen 6 times during a 12 wk period and then not again until they are approved for surgery. Do you put patients on a strict diet that mimics what they will be on post surgery? How frequently do you follow up prior to surgery if surgery is 4-6 months out? Thank you! Guest guest
We use a body gem which we require all patients to receive - insurance does not cover. We see them initially and then determine number of follow up appointments needed typically 2-3 weeks apart. Mostly we work on behavior change - not everyone is placed on a calorie controlled meal plan. However, everyone is placed on Optifast 4 weeks prior to surgery.
