Iggy, any low/no grain diet or low glycemic diet is always good for your body. It lowers insulin, which causes disease, as well as makes the body alkaline helping to ward off auto immune illness, infections, and cancers, as well as inhibits food allergies. it builds up healthy cells and also is good for your hormones , easier on your endocrine system, and helps your brain! You go girl! Tell me how you feel on it.. love More good news, I have lost over thirty pounds, low glycemic diet...

My doc put me on a low glycemic diet, and it is incredible.... any foods w/a 45 points or less is low, and ok to eat... My sister says this type of diet is in a book called the Schwartzbein principles, she has a PHD and is very knowledgeable, and she specializes and has specialized in metabolic disorders, which is perfect for us women, cuz the implants mess that up firsthand immediately... she said the website is schwartzbein.com tell me what you think!!!! love and blessings, Iggy

Low glycemic food is great esp if one does not do allot of working

out because working out is another way of keeping insulin low, if you

work out allot you can handle a few things that are higher on the

glycemic value, but still it is better not to. Right now we are

having the big Idaho State Fair and we are going there tonight to see

a lil ole band some of you might remember called " ZZ TOP " hee hee,

anyhow I know I will eat something fattening there, but I def can

afford to do that now and then at this point. I mean what is life

without a treat now and then. I will work out first for about my

usual 2 hours so that will help me not put on any fat.

I am proud of your weight loss, I almost did not see it as i was not

looking at the titles of the posts, just clicking next, hee hee, (i

read all my posts on the site so I don't get a zillion emails) anyhow

was impressed to see that you lost so much weight. Would love to see

how your looking now, it is really inspirational for others I know,

to see that you can lose that kind of weight. For some women with

implants they just seem to get allot of weight gain. It never

happened to me, I was at a higher body fat level but not much higher

weight when I had implants. I am a bit smaller now too. And was told

not to lose anymore but I really never lose anyhow, I think I

actually just keep adding muscle which is why the body fat keeps

going down and the scale really stays about the same all the time.

I just am so stoked for you. I know weightloss is so fun and such a

wonderful feeling and am very proud of you girl. I think that with

the bio identicals that can def help. I would love to learn more

about them as I don't think I need them yet, but would def be

interested in getting info on them now for when I do go through

menopause. I plan on that being in my 50's hopefully, like the other

women in my family, but who really knows. My periods are pretty light

now, but I think that has more to do with lowered body fat than

anything else. From everything I have been reading 16 is still a safe

percent and should not disruprt my cycles too much. I believe though

that 12 and 13 percent body fat would be too low for a woman, so I

will stick to where I am. I would not mind getting to 15 but I doubt

it will happen. I have that little sweet tooth that I give into

sometimes, and I also will have an occasional slice of pizza or

cheeseburger so i think I will be ok.

again girlie congrats. I wanted to give a little plug for the tanita

weight scale they have at my work. It is pricey but really cool, it

tells you your weight, body fat percent,BMI, your water percentage,

how many calories you burn a day and how much you should eat to

maintain your wegiht. It was interesting I tell ya.

hugs and glad you did so well. I knew that with your Dr and all you

would get well soon and you did. Have you talked to Dr Feng and let

her know how well you have done? I think you may take the record on

getting well the fastest of anyone I have met yet!

you go girl

hugs

Well, your little plug for this gadget made somebody a few $$$. I

searched on the net for this thing and found a few models...settled

on the Tanita BF 682 for about $65. I am sure it retails for much

more (but I did my homework for the best price, as usual.)

I have never known what my body fat % is before, so I figured it

will help keep me motivated to stay up with my workouts!

I am scared to see what my percentage is...but kinda excited too. It

sounds like a cool little scale.

Well, , so far you've gotten me to buy a Bow flex, recumbent

bike, elliptical machine and now this Tanita Scale. You should be

getting commissions from somebody!

Patty, how do you like your elliptical? I have been planning on buying one, when Sears has a 0% sale. I have a treadmill, total gym, a stair climber, weights and bench, tapes and steppers, you name it. I cant live without working out. I just don’t talk about it much. Too many other things going on. And its such a way if life for me, on top of having a slow metabolism now, so the payoff , like in s situation isnt huge for me, for now. I say, for now! It'll happen again.

For being overweight since my thyroid issues, despite working out everyday, (I think its because I had food allergies and also very toxic) I guess it paid off. When I was at Curves last week ,they were very happy with my body fat, it was never high to begin with, but now even lower. I do a lot of solid muscle, just with some added weight! About 20 pounds to go! Arg! At least it has kept me form being jiggly. Ill find out what it was, and let you all know. I really have never been overweight until the last two years with implants, and now. Its good s talks about exercise, it is so important, and motivates! I believe what has helped me to get better too. Keep that crap moving! (toxins, ect)it never sat still in me for minute. On top of all the other benefits. Tell me how you like it-Love julie

Hey Patty I think that is a good idea. The one I got my latest fat

measured on was really nice. They said it was a $1500 scale, but it

is for the bariatric program at work, they use it for all the gastric

bypass patients. It tells you all kinds of stuff, your body fat, the

amount of lean tissue in pounds that you have, and how much water how

much food you can eat (i was told to double that when I work out, as

it is only 1200 calories and when I work out I would die with that

little food) anyhow it was sweet. It prints it out and then you save

it and then I will go back in a few weeks to see how I am doing. I am

no longer even focused on thenumber on the scale though I do weigh in

everyday to see what it is, a littel obsessed I guess hee hee.

I am looking into acredited places right now for the certified

personal training thing, I really really think that is the route I

want to go. Nursing is a fantastic career, but in the long run I am

not sure it is what or where I want to be. I dream of owning my own

little training business and running it right out of my basement. I

want to hook up with the gastric bypass program at work and help

those dear folks get fit. I just love helping people reach their

fitness goals. Another little 24 year old the other day at work who

is an LPN (nurse) told me that she has lost 20 pounds and that I was

her inspiration, so that is really cool. I hope that you will really

use all that wonderful equiptment you got, it sounds like you have

about all you need now. The only other thing I have that I really

love is my yoga ball, that things is sweet and works nice for your

entire body.

hugs girlie

and yeah where is my commision hee hee

Hey I have a problem that is driving me nuts. I am thin, weigh like

124 lbs and am 5'6 " . The only place I ever put weight on is in my

middle. Everywhere else is pretty skinny. But even with putting

weight on there, my stomach didn't look bad--especially in the

mornings. Anyway, about 6 months ago, I did a detox with bentonite

and the sonne #7 psyllium. I also bought the other sonne products to

fast with. I did this for almost 3 days. I know, they recommended at

least seven days! Anyway, after that fast I noticed that my stomach

was getting bigger--especially below the waist. I feel like I am

bloated all the time. My lower abdomen makes me look like I am 4

months pregnant. I have had bloating on and off at different points

in my life, but this is almost constant. I also have been feeling

like I am full alot. This is when eating a normal amount or even a

small amount. It seems even when I fast it still looks pouched out.

I was concerned about ovarian cancer because I heard that these could

be symptoms. I had my yearly checkup and my gyne thought my ovaries

felt normal size. He didn't do any special tests. NOw my clothes

aren't very comfortable and my stomach always seems to hang over my

waistline a little with my pants on. ANd I look pregnant (in my view)

unless I hold my stomach in...which I can't do endlessly!!

My sister says it is just my age. I am 49. I have heard bloating can

be a symptom of menopause. Also putting on weight in lower abdomen.

I have thinning pubic hair this past year--almost like a balding spot

(which is ridiculous). This apparently can be a perimenopausal

symptom also. My doctor didn't seem concerned. I however am. I

tried exercising and it didn't make any difference. I am sure alot of

it is bloating!! I have also had irritable bowel since a teen, but

this was never so constant. Any ideas anyone? I have seen other

women around my age with these " pregnant abdomens " but they are

usually overweight. This is doing absolutely nothing for my self

image. IN fact, even when I suck my muscles in hard, if I lean

forward there is a little " pouch " where my belly used to be flat. I

am becoming very selfconscious and no longer like at all how I look in

my clothes. If it is bloating how can Imake it stop? Not eating

doesn't appear to affect it much. As soon as I eat anything it seems

to swell right up. I have had this before. But only intermittently.

Anyone else have this? I feel like I could starve myself and it

wouldn't go away. I am doing the colosan now. It is supposed to

clean out the colon. It doesn't make my abdomen any flatter though.

Help!!

Kathy,

Hi, I am 47 and I to had the tummy pouch. Since I started doing the

fat flush diet my stomach has really gone down. I think it is the

cranberry water you have to drink all day. You may what to try it.

Even if you don't what to do the diet because you are so thin, just

drinking the cranberry water might help.

KAthy, I am on progesterone , and it does help a lot. The best way to see where your hormones fall is a saliva test. Have you read Dr lee's book? I go through www.salivatest.com.

Also, people who have IBS are at a 4 times chance higher of having a gluten sensitivity or celiac disease .I have that, and have cut out all traces of gluten in the last few weeks and feel wonderful. I am really on my way. And no no longer have a bloated tummy, as your intestines literally swell and can become damaged form an allergy to the food, causing constipation/diarrhea, bloating, acid reflux, or in some people hardly any digestive issues. Out of all the cases -only 3% of Americans are diagnosed and 97% of the cases go unknown in the US, and average time to be diagnosed is 12 years here, and in European countries 10 weeks-this is how totally ignored and understood this allergy and how it affects each individual is. I had a doctor tell me "What does IBS mean exactly? Pissed off Bowels? But why are they mad? Usually a food intolerance" Its just an name they slap on, when they cant figure out why it is reacting. I just read another statistic that 6 out of 10 American women have either a gluten allergy or dairy allergy. It is that common. Look into it. let me know Love you, Re: More good news, I have lost over thirty pounds, low glycemic diet...

Thanks iggy. Do you still have the middle fullness or have the

hormones helped that? Are you saying now that no matter how little

you eat, your stomach still is full looking?

thanks for your reply. I may have celiac. I had saliva testing done

3 years ago and I had antibodies to gliadin outside the normal range.

The test said it could indicate a problem but also said that some

people had antibodies and didn't have a problem. I am thinking of

going to dr. and asking for that endomysal blood test. Is that the

one you took? Are you going to get a biopsy? I really don't want to

do that. I am such a chicken! Man it sure seems hard not to eat

gluten. Are you having a hard time with that? Isnt' in just about

everything? Do you think the progesterone could help with bloat and

pubic hair thinning? I have some. I just don't ever remember to take

it. I guess I could start it up again. What do you think

all traces of gluten in the last few weeks and feel wonderful. I am

really on my way. And no no longer have a bloated tummy, as your

intestines literally swell and can become damaged form an allergy to

the food, causing constipation/diarrhea, bloating, acid reflux, or in

some people hardly any digestive issues. Out of all the cases -only 3%

of Americans are diagnosed and 97% of the cases go unknown in the US,

and average time to be diagnosed is 12 years here, and in European

countries 10 weeks-this is how totally ignored and understood this

Usually a food intolerance " Its just an name they slap on, when they

6 out of 10 American women have either a gluten allergy or dairy

allergy. It is that common. Look into it. let me know Love you,

kathy, get the book Dangerous grains by R hoggan, and in there he explains very well, why a sensitivity to gluten or full blown celiac disease will continue to wreak havoc on your health. He states, bowel biopsy or not, if you have antibodies to gluten, your body is attacking and responding to it. it’s a sure sign to stop eating it. Whether it is because you have celiac or more commonly- gluten intolerance as in most cases you are ill and now have secondary food allergies. It is of no importance. Your body is reacting, and you need to get it out of your diet. I have, and I feel very good. I think its a fallacy that it is in everything. And its so hard to follow. I think it is hard the 1st few months, you know reading labels and all, cutting out cakes and cookies, unless you buy them gluten free- but I order brown rice pasta at www.glutensolutons.com or a health food store, and swear to God, my hubby is Italian, and likes it. He is one picky sucker, too. Sure ,it is in a lot of salad dressings and hidden in mixes, but thanks to Bush, in the last few months-companies are having to list the top 8 allergies on food labels now. So are they just now doing it. its so nice to see- This product contains gluten. So I don’t have to read every hidden ingredient. I swear I say that God intended this to happen to me at this point, as it is so easy to deal with it, with this new law on labels! I am very lucky! I don’t eat a lot of grains, so it wasn’t that hard. Besides, processed grains are no good for you whatsoever. Insulin/ cancers, you know the rap. Ill talk more when I have more time. Gotta go

PS, I only had blood work, would not do the biopsy and 3 markers were on there- my doctor told me with tests now, you do not have to have the biopsy. The blood is so sensitive to it now. They used to have to do bowel biopsy, And thyroid disease and other auto immune illnesses are directly linked ,and get better after gluten is removed) Love . ---- Original Message -----

-thanks for your reply. I may have celiac. I had saliva testing done3 years ago and I had antibodies to gliadin outside the normal range. The test said it could indicate a problem but also said that somepeople had antibodies and didn't have a problem. I am thinking ofgoing to dr. and asking for that endomysal blood test. Is that theone you took? Are you going to get a biopsy? I really don't want todo that. I am such a chicken! Man it sure seems hard not to eatgluten. Are you having a hard time with that? Isnt' in just abouteverything? Do you think the progesterone could help with bloat andpubic hair thinning? I have some. I just don't ever remember to takeit. I guess I could start it up again. Good points , and like I mentioned, supplements can often times

be a source of allergic reactions too. We tend to forget that when

taking things that are supposed to be good for us.

I discovered that sugarless gum makes me gassy and bloated if I chew

it too much, so I have had to cut back. Also sugar free things really

can cause this problem.

, my mom too with sugar less gum! I totally agree, luckily all my supps were always gluten free. And Ill be able to cut down on them, thank God when my tummy heals after eliminating gluten for 6 months. As the villi was most likely damaged and not being able to absorb nutrients, sending off all sorts of nutritional deficiencies. Wont that be nice? no wonder I need b12 or my nerves and numb feet, and digestive enzymes for my bloated tummy, and b complex for energy no matter how good I ate. And an array of others...I simply wasn’t absorbing any of it. And I Am going to get one of those ellepticals, I cant wait. I have been eyeing them for some time.
