cod liver oil or fish oil?

I was wondering what is the better choice, either good fish oil or cod liver

oil. Any insight? A friend of mine who sells fish oil bashes the cod liver oil

because of contaminates in it. So I am confused since I see it is listed as a

superfood by Price. I can't afford both and want to oil to my children as well.

Can you help me decide?
