Lifts, Explant , PS's-getting ready for surgery & away from home-hard

Hi,

YIKES is right. When they woke me up and I was told that they had to

stop, I just cried! BUT, when I found out all the PS had to do (I

know the nurse and Anestheologist very well) I understood why she

stopped...I was already out for 4 hours, lost a ton of blood and the

tissue was soooo inflamed that going on was impossible. The PS had

never seen anything so bad, her words.

I origionally got implants because my breasts did not develop

properly....the right one did not develope at all. I had been

ashamed of my disformity all of my teen life, and when I had a

surgery to re-due a scar on my face after a horrible auto accident in

Spain when I was hitch-hiking. (I went through the windshield and was

severly injured. Went though the tunnel and saw the white light.)but,

that is a story for another post...)

Anyway...when having the pre-surgery exam the surgeon saw my deformed

breasts and told me he could make me beautiful! I was 19...that was

in 1966.

I first got asthma in 1969...then on and on. Horrific allergies,

tubal pregnancy, and on and on...

So, I really needed to do the lift to have a comfortable life. I am

58, and I have gained weight since I was 19...so all this about doing

lifts at the same time surely depends on the circumstance of your

age, health, tissue, etc. I was way bigger on the left and very

uncomfortable with the hanging breast tissue. Yes, Ann,

disheartening it was!!! In the months prior to getting the lift I

worked on getting as healthy as I could (I have CML) and I am happy I

did go through the lift now even though I am still very sore...just

had the surgery last March.

You guys, as for the doctor, I loved her, but I would hesitate to

reccomend her!! I don't know if she would have done it if she had a

crystal ball and knew what a mess I was?! She did a great job and

was so very compassionate and helpful...BUT, she does breast

augmation to make her living!! So...I don't even know if she wants me

to reccomend her for women looking for EXplant. I will have to ask

her? ALSO, for the women looking for an EXplant away from home, I

don't know how any woman could do this EXplant long distance? Surely

you are not getting on a plane in 2 days?? My husband had to call

her for more pain meds and it was a very grim experience, but one I

HAD no choice but to do!! If you have no choice but to go away from

home, there needs to be a doctor locally se up for you, or plan on

spending 2-3 weeks to a month to even begin to recover or go home.

If it goes faster than good, but just know it isn't going to happen

overnight. I would set up a local doctor before you go anywhere long

distance, or another doctor won't want to touch you! Shop for your

doctor too. Make sure your local hospital will take you after a non-

local doctor does surgery!! Some won't!! If you have an emergency,

know who you/your caretaker would call. I would reccomend to ask to

speak to other women this PS has done surgery on...get

reccomendations, ask them for referals!! Know what you are doing and

be your own advocate!! There isn't one doctor out there who is going

to take care of you like you would, so be informed and make calls,

and whatever you have to do to know you are in good hands first!! It

is major surgery! I came home the same day and I do wish I had been

in a hospital. I had drainage hoses hanging out of me that had to be

drained every 2 hours or so. AHhhhh...you just do it, and get it

over with, and start getting well. Perhaps it is easier if you are

younger, how would I know?? Just prepare for everything, then you

will be covered.

FLASH..

My oncologist says " not all implants make all women sick, but your

implants made you sick! " Glad I have some understanding from him,

and he is a MAN too! Pretty amazing!

So, I hope this helps someone...no surgery is fun, hell, childbirth

isn't fun either, we get through it, and you will too. Just know how

much better you will feel down the road! We do the childbirth, then

they stick us with implants too!! No man would be able to get

through either one!! HA~~~~

My PS had intended to do the

lift after removing the implants, BUT,
