Guest guest Posted November 19, 2008 Report Share Posted November 19, 2008 wow! It sounds like you are right. Remember a bariatric pt can eat more food if they are drinking at the same time. It also sounds like she uses fat (mayo) to help foods go down or she just enjoys high-fat foods. Does she have a " beginning " and and " end " to her meals? a bite here & a bite there, especially of high fat foods will add up quickly. Many bypass pts end up grazing all day - unless they are told to eat only 3 times per day. Unless, there is some staple line disruption - she is definitely eating NOT to lose weight. Why won't she keep a food journal and send it to you? Does she exercise? Is she diabetic? Has she had a psych consult so that you can discuss her case with the psychologist?
