There is no protocol, but our surgeons check pre-op, then 3 mos, 6 mos, 9 mos, and yearly. We can request additional prn.

What is the protocol for checking vitamin/mineral status for a lap band patient? When is it typically done? (i.e 2 weeks pre-op?)

Thanks.

We check all of our bariatric patients at 3 months and 12 months post-op for bloodwork.

If there are any problems, we supplement or make changes and then re-check after 8 weeks.

Hope that helps,

Virginia
