CLO for babies

Hi

I am wondering when other moms on this list started to give their

babies CLO. My 6 month old is exclusively breastfed and I don't plan

on introducing solids for a while. I take CLO myself but don't know

if I should be giving him any directly. I know there is a lot of talk

about this on the WAPHB group but the majority of moms are

giving their kids the raw milk formula and starting solids earlier

than what I want to do.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

TIA,

h

CLO is an important source of nutrients that may be lacking in

today's food supply. Besides supply Vit A nd D, CLO is also a

source of essential Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. These are

essential for brain development in children. You are right, the DHA

and EPA did come from mother's milk, but it is difficult to get

enough unless you eat a lot of fish, which isn't recommended due to

mercury pollution. Plus breast feeding can deplete the mother's

Omega 3 reserves as well. So supplements can be very helpful.

Mercola recommends krill oil, which doesn't contain Vit A and D, for

a summertime omega 3 source.

Mercola recommends Carlson's CLO, but I like Garaden of Life

better. It is a traditionally made oil sometimes available at Whole

Foods. Read about it at the WAPF site.
