Shop-N-Swap

With the notices going out for vender information I have been swamped with

questions of " what is a swap? " So I hope to answer you all in this message.

First and foremost, I need to break a bad habit, we no longer are calling them

swaps, they have been renamed to " SHOP-N-SWAP " . We feel this name much better

reflects what they really are.

Several times a year the TFMN (trad foods MN) list has hosted S-N-S's. These are

held in various places through out the TC metro area. Our next one will be on

April 5th. Location is still pending. We are looking at a noon to 4 time slot.

This is open to all. So please invite family and friends.

(We are open to hearing about meeting locations and if any of the farmers would

be interested in hosting an S-N-S during warm weather on their farm?? )

Any one with a TF type of item is welcome to set up a table (usually tables and

chairs are provided) to sell/trade their wares. Venders we have had in the past

have had, grass fed (pasture raised) beef, lamb, pork, chicken, eggs, duck eggs,

cheeses, bacon, baked goods, cultured veggies, kombucha starters, kefir grains,

books, salts, natural skin care, goat soaps, cod liver oil, butter oil, cloth

diapers and sanitary pads, sour dough starter, information DVD's, changa

mushrooms, pickles, and lots of stuff I am not thinking of right now. Any one is

welcome to come shop and swap with the many venders or to be a vender

themselves.

There is always a demo/talk on TF, nutrition, food or health. In the past we

have had a speaker on changing from feed lot farming to natural organic farming,

Cracker making, homeopathy, beer making to name a few.

We are always looking for people willing to share their wisdom as well as

people to give demos that pertain to the TF lifestyle. So please pass along

your name or any names of those who you would like to see us get. No payment is

made to the speakers though as we do not have a budget for this.

We suggest (not mandatory) for every one to bring a Trad Food type of dish to

pass for a pot luck. We also ask for you to bring your own plates and sliver to

help cut down on paper cost and it is better for the environment too. We do have

paper plates and ware there for those who need it.

Some times we host an silent auctions to help cover costs of the S-N-S. If you

have any items you would like to donate for this please let us know. Would be

nice to have one or two items at least at each gathering.

There is always a bucket for donations to cover the costs of the meeting place,

paper wares and other expenses that we occur. Please try to drop something in

there when you come in and get your name tag.
