When I contacted the surgeon who implanted me about taking

them out...her office manager told me to read my warranty

information.

My implants are Mentor Corporation issued. The warranty states

that they are not meant to be lifetime products, but do carry a lifetime

guarantee. (meaning the life of the implant, not me).

which is clearly stated to be seven to ten years.

Mentor Corp. will replace the implants during this time period at no

additional to cost to me, other than the surgery fee etc...

But, the old implants become THEIR property, and must be

turned over to them at the time of removal.

So, if I have mine removed thru the doctor who put them in..

I guess I will never get a pathology report.

Hi .

You're right.

Welcome to the group.

You are going to want your implants sent to a pathology lab!! My god, you want to know that you don't have cancer! The PS should just automatically send them but make sure they do!! Also, if you keep them, or with any issues contact www.toxicdiscovery.com There are labs doing research on implants and I wish I would have known as I would have been happy to send them. I have leukemia!! The doc says from silicone implants...so, be sure you send them to pathology! Mine were also BLACK with mold! You will want to have copies of photographs and lab results for the future. I had my implants in 1966. I must have had a premention cause I have the origional surgery reports to support my DC claim.Get them out of you before you are so sick like me. I am in remission, but there are no words like hearing you have leukemia!xxx in

I think the implants go back to them if you are getting the old ones REPLACED.If you are explanting only, that's between you and your doctor to work out. Perhaps you need to make clear to the secretary you don't want replacement but EXPLANT.Aprilcupcake@... wrote:

Hi April,

This information is an absolute LIE. My PS tried the same thing.

They tried to tell me that I could not have my implants. Truth is,

they belong to you, you paid for them. The only thing they can

insist on is that they go straight from the PS to pathology (this is

sometimes hospital policy). Write them a letter advising them that

you want the implants back as soon as they are done with pathology.

Pathology report is basically useless UNLESS YOU HAVE CANCER, which

of course you need to know. Then send them directly to Dr. Blais for

info on leaking, etc.

PS. The doc gets $600 if he can get those implants from you and give

them back to Mentor. They don't want you to have them. They will

also tell you that if you take possession, they will not cover any

defects. According to Blais, this is not true, but even if it is

true, if they are leaking, your insurance will pay. BTW, Mentor will

not pay if your insurance pays!!! Good luck,

Ann
