Judi, you don’t sound too bad to me. In fact, according to dr lowe's research, (get his Metabolic book if possible) most FMS patients have thyroid issues, it is quite common. Or are undiagnosed with them, but all the same -most have thyroid issues. And long term hypothyroidism mimics a lot of the FMS symptoms, so to Dr Lowe and also the thyroid doc I am seeing, they ask- Is it really another disease per say? Is it really Fibro? or it is chronic long term under treatment of thyroid hormones causing this fms condition? I was told had FMs from a rheumy and a chiropractor about 4 years ago- but those smyptoms went away once on proper thyroid medication. HMMMM

And if you go on his site and read more into it, most patient placed on a small amount of T4 alone will feel actually worse! The only way to assess if this is what is causing FMS, is to run some tests with a knowledgably doctor that knows about this. They will or should first look into your hormones? Excess cortisal can cause inflammatory issues. And other things but if all is well, they then should look long and hard at the thyroid. And the best way in my opinion, and most research points to is that a blend of t3 with t4 together will most effectifly target the cells that are having an issue of taking in thyroid, overcome thyroid resistance and also mimic what your body does naturally.

Not all women will convert their t4 to t3. It just doesn’t happen, like it is supposed to. Armour thyroid helped my friend wonderfully and about 70 percent of patients that take it! Although, it is hard to get mainstream. On Dr Lowes site ,it talks about a trial of armour thyroid, as some people about 20% do not tolerate it, and will have to go on synthetics. Could you guess that was me? I am such a tough cookie to treat. (but after talking to Dr Kolb about this ,she is seeing more and more implanted women with thyroid resistance/issues, possibly due to toxins or infections within the cells, making it hard to take in thyroid hormones) However, I found this doc under Shonmans' recommended doctors, as endos will be of no help in most cases, they only go by blood. I went to three of them, and was not happy. Didn’t help a bit. I have never been the same since going to him! I am on cytomel-.25mg twice per day, and Levoxyl, .75 once per day. Not that much, but it is amazing how great I feel! Look on her site. Ill send you the link. I would go to a thyroid specialist ands see.

Another thing that helps thyroid is progesterone, have you read any of Dr lee's books? Most women that go on it, can go off thyroid meds? as excess estrogen was suppressing thyroid function. I wont confuse you and go into that ,just to read his book, if you havent. Ill send that link also. Love julie Re: JULIE Need help with thyroid meds

Hi ,I know that you are on thyroid meds. I just got diagnosed with low thyroid and the doctor gave me this levoxl. I FEEL AWFUL and i've had the WORST FMS flare ever. I couldn't turn my neck and the pain went all the way down my left side. I had to lay on ice packs for two days. I called him today and asked him for Armour natural thyroid. Is that what you take??? I really want to start feeling better and I think my TSH level was borderline for years and now it is actually high. I was making some progress and then started feeling awful again and something inside of me felt it was hormonal. I am 54 and already gone through menopause and have been struggling with FMS for the past two years. I had a bout of it about 2 years after I got the imiplants but I didn't know what it was. Eventually it went away except for a few aches and pains. I am a tough case because I had the implants for 17 years and had them out about 20 months ago. I doon't want to give up but sometimes I sure feel like it. If I could get this thyroid thinig under control maybe my FMS would get better. I went to Dr. Lowe's website and he seems to think that you can get cured of FMS with thyroid meds. I HOPE SO!!! I AM SOOOOOO TIRED OF FEELING LIKE CRAP.ThanksLoveJudi
