Guest guest
Actually while it is partly def my own fault and responsibility, in all my pre op excitment to get implants, my Dr and his nurse both failed to give me the paper work, the FDA booklet, the McGhan booklet, or even have me sign my consent. Now i did sign my surgical consent, and the anesthesiologist did go over the anesthesia risks quite well, but because my surgery got pushed back to another date, I never had that pre op visit again with my PS and he never gave me any of that stuff till 7 days after I got implanted. I remember going for the stitch removal and I did not even know how many CC's my implants were or what kind. That is pretty dumb of me, but also bad of him. He became shocked when I asked him and he said " didn't we go over the informed consent and give you the ID for the implants blah blah " and i was like " NO " and then he sort of seemed nervous and called his nurse to get me all the paper work and to sign the consent. I still have this consent dated April 11th 1999, and my surgery was April 5th 1999, so this I thought would be enough to sue over. But no lawyer would touch it. They all said, well you signed it eventually so there is really no way to sue, bla bla, so live and learn I guess. I don't completely blame my PS however, I should have been more vigilent, I just basically was so nervous I did not want to think allot about the details, I just wanted it to be done get the boobs, and go on my merry little way and live a happy life with big boobs. so it is def partially my fault for not asking more questions. I learned allot from this experience for sure. hugs In , Vickie <gracie17db@y...> wrote: > Y'all keep saying you were not informed..my PS gave me paperwork he had typed out about the implants and dangers and also a booklet from Mentor that explained all the dangers and side effects of implants, just like you get from a pharmacy when you get medication.
