Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, Welcome to the group!!! We have others on here with Celiac and also PTSD... A lot of us agree that we Do get depressed trying to find out what our illnesses are and the Dr's. telling us time and again that there is nothing wrong with us when we know better... Hopefully now that you know what your dealing with it will get better for you and you can concentrate on working on getting better... Keep on posting and venting it deos help... ((( Welcoming Hugs )))Helen Hi, I'm Cheryl, age 30... although I'll be 31 at the end of the month. I've been married for 11 1/2 years to and we have 4 kids: JR, 12; Mystie, 11; Selah, 6; and CJ, 5. I'm a stay at home, home schooling mom. I joined this club because I have Celiac Disease. I was diagnosed 4 months ago. Prior to being diagnosed I was extremely ill. I was bedridden for about 1 1/2 months and dropped down to 78 lb. I was bounced around from dr to dr and no one seemed to know what was the matter. I was given so many different pills that I could've opened my own pharmacy. It got to the point when one dr said I was severly depressed... I was a threat to myself and others... AND I needed to check myself into a behavioral hospital. He claimed I was so depressed that I was making myself sick and that there wasn't anything wrong with me. (I was diagnosed with CD 3 days later!) Prior do being diagnosed, I developed post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I'm doing a lot better physically, but my mentality is still pretty messed up. PTSD is keeping me from doing a lot of things and is causing major anxiety attacks. Anyway, I'm hoping to get to know others. I hope you all are having a great weekend. Guest guest
Yes Cheryl, Just knowing what you are dealing with and that you are Not going crazy is a big step forward... A lot of us were told its all in our heads and it gets ya to thinking just maybe their right, but then when ya set back and think about it, you Know there's something wrong, ya just have to keep on looking and changing Dr's. until one Finally knows what is wrong... Your scared to hear the verdict, but then your also so relieved that it has finally got a name... ((( Happy Hugs )))Helen Hi Helen,Thanks for the warm welcome!
