Hi, Patty...I'd like to copy part of my operative report and ask if you think that I had the capsules taken out. Here goes: "...I was not able to deliver the implant easily, and during the attempt to deliver this implant, silicone gel material leaked out. Although a complete implant was found, it had ruptured, but the implant material was all removed."

Also under Procedures Performed, he wrote, "Bilateral open capsulectomies with removal of Silicone gel implants and implant material."

Just wondering...have been unable to reach doctor, but will keep trying.

Also, while I'm here in CA I thought that I would see Dr. Browsky...do you have his phone #? Love, Shirley

I know you addressed Patty, but I thought I would add

my two cents . . . did your doctor give you a photo of

your removed implants? . . .

My doctor gave me a photo of my implants with the

capsules laid beside them.

As I read your report, I read it as the IMPLANT and

IMPLANT materials (supposedly he removed what was

spilled) were removed. . . Not the capsules.

Once there's a spill, it's very difficult to remove

all loose silicone . . . do you know how long you were

in surgery? . . . That can be very telling.

Removing implants " en bloc " , especially when they're

silicone, takes considerably longer.

Shirley,

Dr. Feng's office told me that sometimes you can tell if they removed the capsules by the length of the surgery. If the surgery was longer then two hours they might have.

Hi and Rogene...I was in surgery 5 1/2 hours. And no, I was unaware that I should ask to have the implants saved...also, the doctor said nothing concerning that and the hospital pathologist threw them away...after taking 2 slides...one unreadable and one so-so readable, but enough that I later sent them to another lab that gave me a written report that I have silicone throughout my body.
