Guest guest
I don't understand why insurance companies are so willing to dish out thousands of dollars for pain pills (that don't actually contribute toward healing of any sort), yet are not willing to pay for therapeutic massage, which could help bring about not only pain relief, but long lasting " root cause " relief as well. It makes no sense. I remember Daryl telling me that her Duragesic patches cost $1500 a month. WOW. That would pay for alot of massages! And I think the massages would do so much more than the pain pills. I hope nobody misunderstands me...I know that some of our women are in so much pain that they need those pain pills just to be able to get through a day--but without making an effort to get beyond the pain pills, it is just spinning wheels to me. We went through the same thing with my husband and his back issues. He suffered from debilitating back pain for some time, going to chiropractors and DO's for adjustments, and it got to the point that the insurance company finally even paid for physical therapy. It was never long lasting--only temporary relief. I have no doubt that eventually they would have suggested back surgery of some sort. This went on for several years. Spinning wheels, never getting anywhere. When he complained that the pain was in his kidney area, and radiated down his leg, I decided to put him on a kidney cleanse, and from there we moved on to colon cleanses and other detoxification therapies. This was after I started learning all I needed to learn about my own healing. Voila! Imagine our delight and surprise when his pain went away! It has stayed away because he made lifelong changes to his eating habits. We have, on our own, discovered that a diet heavy in meats and/or processed foods, without making sure that his colon is kept clear, brings back that back pain. So, it turned out to be entirely a problem associated with his diet and his colon. Perhaps it is a situation where an impacted colon presses on a nerve or something of the sort. But the point was that all the money the insurance companies were willing to throw at it through traditional medicine WOULD NOT HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM. They were looking everywhere but the right place. Simply paying for some colon cleansing, and then teaching him how to keep his colon clear would have fixed him. As it is, we found that out for free, using our own brains. We have a bloated, ineffective health care system that throws away dollars, and leaves people hurting. Sometimes in worse shape than they started. It is sad. Patty > > Patty, I agree with you on insurance covering therapeutic massages! > They help as much or more than anything, but are so expensive.
