Guest guest
One might walk away with concern about religious people who “don’t trust government”. (Probably don’t trust dentists or dictionaries either, the rubes.) Read this article and comment thoughtfully. Then write to the author and challenge her to contact the National Vaccine Information Center to do a thorough job on follow up. http://www.nvic.org/ Or challenge her to watch “A Greater Good” and see if she doesn’t write a follow up article with new eyes. http://www.portlandtribune.com/news/story.php?story_id=132934613174836100 Author: By janderson@... Would love to see how you craft your email to her. (Be respectful, brief, and if possible use a linked reference.) Here is my letter: Dear Ms. , As you may suspect, not all people who distrust some vaccines are religious people who “don’t trust government”. (I have attached an excerpt from a book by a female neurosurgeon, Katrina Firlick, MD. She mentions the number of FDA approved drugs which are later removed because of effects only discovered after use by millions of people. She doesn’t have a vendetta against drugs, but rather a respectful distrust of their singular effects.) You may not realize that in light of some parent’s desire to opt out of some vaccines (Hep. B, chicken pox), a religious exception is the only option as a medical exception leaves the doctor open to lawsuits if the child becomes ill so they will never grant one. I challenge you to contact the National Vaccine Information Center to do a thorough job on follow up. http://www.nvic.org/ I also challenge you to watch a brief documentary (which they will allow you as a reporter to view on your computer) entitled “The Greater Good” and see if you don’t write a follow up article with new eyes. Don’t worry, it’s not a tinfoil hat, we-didn’t-land-on-the-moon, conspiracy theory, rant. It’s well referenced by insiders from the FDA and pharmaceutical industry; the type of sources that diligent reporters demand. http://www.greatergoodmovie.org/home Sincerely, Etc. -- E.
