Guest guest
Eileen, I have done a lot of research on MLM’s. They are a natural variation of getting products from maker to market and not inherently wrong. Many have crappy models, are deceiving in their marketing, and so on. Riddle me this, Batperson: If TSFL is not essentially an MLM by the way money is made, then you should be able to point to the substantial percentage of TSFL coaches who do not steer clients toward Medifast. Medifast is OK. Two of my daughters lost a bunch of weight on it and one has stayed in shape by changing her whole lifestyle. The other is a young harried mom and did not do as well. (Kids are therefore a deterrent to health and should be eliminated!) Of course being a libertarian at heart, the thought of the government subsidizing health care is both wasteful and unworkable. But that’s just me typing from my bunker surrounded by 50 lb. bags of rice and beans. -- E. Abrahamson, D.C. It is a Network Marketing company. No health coach is obligated to steer people towards Medifast. I did a little research on the food that Medifast uses and it is very similar to the Zone Diet, except that it is not as rigorous in protein portions for each meal. The zone diet insists on a certain amount of protein every four hours. Medifast allocates the protein over a 24-hour period; the purpose is the hormonal regulation as is the zone diet. It emphasizes fruits and vegetables as the primary source of carbohydrates. Proteins are the main drivers for controlling insulin spikes and turning off the " I am hungry " perception. So any diet that treats protein as the evil twin of saturated fats does not succeed over the long term- that is the reason why people can't keep their weight off with high carbohydrate diets. Just my $.02 worth. Eileen Machida, DC 503-893-0125
