Guest guest
When I was 8, an orthopedist had me wear toe braces while I slept. Naturally, they came off during the night and created many " battle scenes " between my parents and I, but I couldn't stand the confinement of my toes. Maybe I lasted two months of this max. It was not my bones that were the beginning problem, but the muscles. Soft tissue surgery and physical therapy were the winning solution. Guest guest
Hi Gretchen: I can really imagine how uncomfortable having toes confined would be...Certainly a single AFO is way more comfortable to wear and doesn't come off although he backs a real kick with them on and often kicks all the bedclothes off! Sally **** Sally, thanks for the reply and explanation on use of the night AFOs. Fortunately I have yet to wear AFOs and my orthotist doesn't think I ever will. ~ Gretchen
