Hello and Greetings!

I'm very excited to have found this resource and look forward to

learning from all of you and perhaps contributing something

helpful from time to time as well.

I'm a 61 year old pastor in Minnesota who was diagnosed when I

was in my late forties. Most affected are my lower extremities,

and I've worn orthotics for about five years. I have

significant foot drop and muscle atrophy, so I fit the classic

profile. My AFOs assist a great deal with walking, but balance

is a serious issue and I usually can't stand without some type

of support. While I have numbness, tingling, twitching, and

seem to be ultra sensitive to cold, I'm fortunate not to have

significant pain.

I found through visiting the HNF web site after an email

from them advising of their merger with CMT Today. I signed the

guestbook and the next thing I knew I had an invitation to join

the group from Gretchen! I joined immediately and am very

grateful to have found you!

I learned just today that the 2005 Heredity Neuropathy

conference will be right here in Minneapolis--where I live! I

plan to attend, will be glad to help with hosting if I can, and

hope to meet many of you. Thank you in advance for sharing your

stories. I'll be glad to share more of mine if it will bring

encouragement and support to anyone. Meanwhile, I'll look

forward to reading your contributions to the group. Thank you,

and God bless.
