Something really nice happened to me today. A few months ago posted she

needed an orthotist in the L.A. area for Adam. I suggested she take him to

Stefan, my orthotist in Santa (within L.A.) I had no idea Stefan has a

pediatric orthotist on staff and from what shared, it was a positive

experience and Adam got new AFOs.

In today's mail I found a beautiful ecru envelope with a handwritten script and

handmade card sent to me by Stefan. The front of the card is one of his travel

photos from Chile and inside is the note " Dear Gretchen, Thank you very much for

referring Adam to us for orthotic care. Your trust and confidence in our

services is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Stefan and staff (also enclosed his

business card)

Now this really was over and above the call of duty for an orthotist or any

professional person to do (he could have sent an email even) but, to receive

this beautiful card amongst the bills, and open it to see some true kindness was

so wonderful. It helped me de-stress from a busy day and put life in

perspective.

It is so wonderful to see the pleasantries of life still exist and are out

there, and coming from professional people. (And no, I do NOT get a commission

from 'referring' people, nor have any financial incentive in doing so. ) I just

wanted to help and Adam.

On Stefan's business card it says " between technology and human care there is a

balance... "

Stefan has been my orthotist since 1991 or so when my Internist recommended him

to me and he has kept me on my feet quite happily too with my custom made

orthotics. Because my feet are happy, I am happy, and so now (I hope) and

Adam are happy :)

Gee, I sound like I've been listening to Wayne Dyer, huh? lol

Seriously, just wanted to share this pleasantry with you all. I swear everyone

was out and on the roads today and speeding and we had some major accidents/plus

several roads are still closed from mudslides. Maybe everyone here has a touch

of Spring Fever...for all you in the East, just know there will be SPRING soon -

I have flowers out already :) It was 73 today, absolutely wonderful.

Blessings happen,

Gretchen
