workplace discrimination?

Hi everyone,

I am kinda discouraged today. I am a special education teacher and recently

began using a wheelchair around the building at work. I walk around my

class though. I have had 3 good evaluations before my wheelchair and now all

of

a sudden I got a bad evaluation and they do not want to rehire me next year.

Their excuse is that they don't have to give a reason why they don't want to

rehire someone their first year there. This is supposedly a law here or in

my contract or something. I contacted my union rep and the president of the

union and they both said that the school legally can not rehire me with no

reason. I think that is just a way of hiding disability discrimination. I

have called MDA and they are going to see if they can find me a lawyer or an

advocate or something. Also, right next to the MDA office is a senetors

office.

They were going to talk to him as well. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am very discouraged.
