Guest guest
Docs: In listening to the audio of the House hearing on the IME issue, it was interesting to listen to the first part of the session, which was testimony by "Take Shape For Life" representatives (audio link below), who are trying to get the State to endorse their weight-loss program. Apparently due to the Governor's mandate to change the status quo when it comes to healthcare, the legislature seems to now be open to options that will lower health costs and risk factors, and were surprisingly favorable toward the "Take Shape For Life" program, which is the MLM component of MediFast. Here is the excerpt of that portion of the hearing, which is definitely worth listening to: "Take Shape For Life" testimony To my dismay, the testimony for the "Take Shape For Life" program was given predominately by lay persons and some members of the medical profession, but not by chiropractors. If we are going to lead the charge to improve the health of Oregonians and ultimately all Americans, we need to start offering better solutions for general fitness and weight management in addition to good chiropractic care. That's where the EvolvHealth e84 Wellness Challenge comes in, which, in my opinion, is a better program than the "Take Shape For Life" system, since it not only targets weight loss (e84 BURN) but also people who want to increase their fitness (e84 FUEL) and athletes who want to take it to the next level (e84 EDGE). And the great thing about the EvolvHealth e84 Challenge is that the Chief Science Officer behind it is Dr. Anne Bodak , a chiropractor! Her goal is to get 8.4 million Americans to complete an 84-day wellness challenge over the next 8.4 years and thereby significantly reduce our healthcare costs. But since we don't have a lot of time in our offices to promote and manage weight-loss programs, etc., it's great to finally have someone come up with a cost-effective, evidence-based (Vern!), as well as Internet-based, wellness program that simply entails referring patients to a web site. As patients participate in the program and begin purchasing products, just like the "Take Shape For Life" representatives revealed to the legislators as to how they get paid, EvolvHealth rewards you by paying the difference between the wholesale price and the retail cost. Very simple, yet highly effective, and it keeps us at the forefront of the wellness revolution in our patients' eyes. For more information, click on the following links. The first is a link to the conference call I did last night with Dr. Anne Bodak from Dallas, Texas. The second is to a web site that gives details on the e84 Challenge. And the third link is to a segment on the "Good Morning Texas" TV show in which Evolver and professional cyclist Geoff Godsey (who intends to break all of Lance Armstrong's records) promotes the e84 Challenge and the Evolv products to the show's staff.
