Guest guest
My daughter Ashlyn is 9 and in the 3rd grade. She isn't doing well in any subject, it's like nothing is " clicking " . I know she's a very bright girl and sometimes I see that she knows an answer, she'll even mouth it, but nothing comes out. She tries to explain something (a story, or what happened at school, etc.) and I can see the frustration when she can't get what she wants to say out. Is this part of the CMT, or is this something else unrelated? She is going to be held back in school, it's for the best, she's really not ready for fourth grade, I feel so guilty. I can't seem to help her. I hate to see her struggle so much in school. Any advice or info would be appreciated! Thank you, ~~~~~~~Kelli

Guest guest
Hi Kelli! I have a son, who is will be nine in May and is also in the 3rd grade. At first we didn't think he had CMT, we sought out help because not only did he not start walking til 18 months, but he wasn't talking. Since then, we have seen several neurologist who refuse to put another label on him, even though it seems he may be autistic...we are not sure about anything at this point...no one seems to have any answers at all. He goes to a regular school, but receives all therapies...occupational, speach, develpmental and physical...his IEP allows him to have a one on one aide that is with him all day and also gives him much more leway when it comes to his acedimics....his school has been absolutely great with him and with us. If you would like to talk about this in more detail, email me privately....I would love to talk to someone who is going through the same thing, at this point I haven't found anyone else who has a child who also seems to have learning disabilities along with CMT. Guest guest
My son Adam has both LD and CMT. Adam is in the 6th grade. He didn't talk until he was 4. He still doesn't have much to say. He has a great school teacher and RSP teacher. You are not alone in this CMT and LD.
