Guest guest
Ok, more fun with math, just for Sunny (as if converting Euros to dollars wasn't hard enough to begin with!!). Here's the financial breakdown of health care expenditure America versus Germany's "mostly" government run health care system. There's 300 million people in America. 82 million in Germany. They spend $1,951 per person each year, WE spend...$8,666 per person each year. (and I, personally, haven't spent money on "medical" care since 1990...but, I have a colonoscopy looooooming in the horizon) (don't do it ). (:-) M. s, D.C. Guest guest
Hey Sunni,  I don't think we need the population ratio as has already done the important math and figured the cost per person for health care. The ratio is irrelevant. What we need to know is how much is spent per person right? Schneider DCPDX On Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 6:29 PM, M. s, D.C. <drbobdc83@...> wrote:    Ok, more fun with math, just for Sunny  (as if converting Euros to dollars wasn't hard enough to begin with!!). Here's the financial breakdown of health care expenditure America versus Germany's " mostly " government run health care system.  There's 300 million people in America. 82 million in Germany. They spend $1,951 per person each year, WE spend...$8,666 per person each year. (and I, personally, haven't spent money on " medical " care since 1990...but, I have a colonoscopy looooooming in the horizon) (don't do it ). (:-)  M. s, D.C.   FW: Tobacco Funds | Germans & Our Health Care System | Oregon Prescription Drug Program Dear Colleagues,  Check out the fourth story link “Alternative Providers Turn to Rule-Making Process for Inclusion in CCOs†just as before the profession will need you to step up and email your public input when the time comes. I have been working with coalition members to draft Admin Rule Language (and some of you have helped already) relative to CCOs providing an adequate network of all provider types and the reimbursement piece which cannot be based on provider type but rather “Quality and Performance.â€Â   Cheers,  Vern Saboe  From: The Lund Report [mailto:report=thelundreport.org@...] On Behalf Of The Lund ReportSent: Thursday, March 15, 2012 10:04 AMvsaboe@...Subject: Tobacco Funds | Germans & Our Health Care System | Oregon Prescription Drug Program  Is this email not displaying correctly?View it in your browser.  The Lund Report | March 15, 2012This week at The Lund Report: NEWS: Legislators Tap Tobacco Prevention Account to Fill Budget GapsAdvocates wonder if legislators consider tobacco prevention merely lip service Germans Confused Over U.S. Healthcare DebateTheir public healthcare system reached a record surplus of $5.28 billion last year and is one of the oldest systems in Europe Oregon Prescription Drug Program Bill Dies a Second DeathFor the second legislative session in a row, the bill could not overcome opposition from the insurance industry Alternative Providers Turn to Rule-Making Process for Inclusion in CCOsThey want to see clear definitions of terms, and guidelines on reimbursement and provider capacity in these coordinated care organizations OHSU Team Looks to Reduce the Number of C-Section BirthsDiscussing birth outcomes on a week-by-week basis may account for the dip in C-section births Philomath Voters Approve Flouride Measure New Federal Guidelines Mean More People Could Have Colonoscopy ScreeningsKaiser Permanente’s goal is to reach above the national average of 90 percent by encouraging its members to undergo such screenings Mental Health Carve Out Bill Faced Governor's VetoThe bill would have required the state to pay for drugs that treat mental illnesses, HIV/AIDS, cancer and immunosuppressant disorders Health Insurers Premera, Regence Report Gains in Surplus CashTwo of the state's three largest health insurers report gains in their surpluses, just as Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler continues to argue that the funds those nonprofits have amassed go far beyond what might be needed PRESS RELEASES: Philomath Citizens Vote to Resume Public Water Fluoridation Governor Kitzhaber Issues Call for Nominations Nurse-Midwives Help Address Healthcare Disparity in Washington County Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Ranks Highest in Member Satisfaction Among Health Plans in the Northwest Region OHSU-led Consortium Wins $21 Million Grant to Study Alcoholism, Stress  follow on Twitter | like on Facebook | forward to a friend  Thanks for your support.Copyright © 2012 The Lund Report, All rights reserved.
