Welcome to the group... I'm Helen, 55, from NW Ohio... You have come to the right place... I don't think I've ever heard of your ailment before, that must be terrible to deal with... Hopefully they will learn more about this and have some help for you soon... Keep on talking, its good for you to vent your frustrations... And Yes, your suffering is Too just as bad as others, on here no one is more worse off then the other... Here we are a family to help each other out and to listen... )

Sigh. I joined this group not sure if I was going to post or not. I'm sick, but with lots of different things. Right now my major pain in the... well, armpit... is Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

It's a skin disorder that causes major major pain... and abscesses under the arms and in the genital area and between the thighs... theyre like huge super inflamed boils. And I was in remission for over three years, only to have it rear its ugly head this past week! I am hurting so much I cant even function... considering going to the ER to have this lanced... I have one under my right arm the size of a golf ball... and three between my thighs that hurt when i walk. It's a very embarrassing disease, and there's some stigma attatched to it that we arent clean or whatever... i shower once a day and when im flaring, twice a day. right now i need a couple shots of vodka before i can even get in the shower though, it hurts that much. I could go to urgent care... last time i went though, they told me they would not lance it, but gave me pain pills and antibiotics. Which I guess was preventative, because they arent originally an infection, but when they open up (just like a pimple, only 50x larger), they can become infected. My mom offered to poke it for me (lancing is essentially a fancy word for poking lol), but I cant let her because of the pain... it hurts like hell to even lift up my arm, much less the thought of anyone touching it... *shudder* Plus, i know that when it opens (gross part) there will be a lot of gunk (pus, blood), that comes out of it and i dont know if she can handle that... she might puke.

Kay, here's the analogy I read somewhere... 'It's like having someone taking the skin in your armpit, pinching it as hard as they possibly can with red hot needle nose pliers, then leaving it there for hours on end'

Sigh. Why now? Why does it have to come back now??? I didn't do anything to bring it back, I guess I had my hopes up too high that i was done with it. Kinda stupid on my part.

Maybe it'll be a fluke... and maybe it isnt really back... that would be nice but not likely. At the same time this one under my arm came, i had three little ones show up between my thighs.

I could go on forever about woe is me but i know that there are people here suffering more than I. So I will keep my pity party to a dull roar... lol... plus, im so incredibly hungry that i cant focus on typing... lol
