Guest guest
Yo Bob, I'm 43 and have had CMT since I was a child. I had problems with my throat about 10 years ago and was diagnosed with acid reflux and treatment was fairly successful. Just recently I have lost a considerable amount of voice strength. I'm going to see a speech pathologist in a few weeks. I'll post when I find out more. This is scary. I'm a pastor and need my voice to work. Keep me posted. Guest guest
Yo , Thanks for your response. I saw a speech pathologist about two years ago. She had me doing exercises for seven weeks. I was repeating sounds many times and moving my tongue to different positions. It took about 15 minutes twice a day. After about 8-10 minutes my tongue and vocal cords hurt so much I had to stop. It was too much work for the small weak muscles and doing more harm than good. I limit my talking to as little as I can, even use hand motions when I can to save my voice. Hope you have better luck then I did. My next step is going to see an ENT doctor and try to find something else to try. Keep me posted on what you find out.
